Maybe just because you are a buckey but I have to disagree completely. The school you attend does have to be your die hard favorite team. You can be fans of other teams but there will not be another "your" school. Academics seem to hate to admit this but there is a direct connection between the respect you get for that piece of paper hanging in your office and the success/recognition of your athletic programs. If you want to make that piece of paper more valuable than you do everything in your power to promote respect of your school and your support of athletics is a big part of that. Putting any other school above your own not only is disrespectful to the school but it also indirectly helps to devalue that piece of paper. Well my wolverine friend... U have an opinion and i respect it, but i do disgaree... I dont feel like making a long post about this because i feel i will just get attacked... But, guys we need to realize the only fact about being a fan is that there are no rules or guidlines to who u are supposed to like, no matter what any tells u.. I went to a large portion of usf bball games(stormed the court against nd), and some football games... But even if i get a degree from usf, the south florida bulls football team will never even come close to my heart as the buckeyes.. and thats just something i cant fight...

There are so mnay reasons as to why someone is a fan of a team/school... And for more reason then one, soemtimes people can not attend that school.. I must say i am surprised bobcat has not come on here telling everyone how they are wrong and they have to root for a team team based on these rules.. Anyway, I am a die hard buckeye (as most of you know), but def root for usf... I dont feel like righting an essay, so ill sum it up liek this, The school u attend doesnt always have to be ur die hard fav team, but u by no means should root against ur school just to piss people off or be the rebel... Thats just stupid..

Ok, it is called online lingo dude. Do you think I turn in my HONORS COLLEGE essays like this? I always think its hilarious when people try to insult ones intelligence because of how they type. I would bet my USF GPA is higher then yours... OSU represents everything thats wrong about college athletics? You have no idea what you are talking about... Now I understand you went to OhioU, but i dont think that gives you the right to just attack me.. Im not a ucf/ecu fan on here talking crap, i root for usf and am a student here... Now I may not root for usf with the same passion as osu, but that is my choice... And dude, you make it sound like usf is the only school where people root for other teams.. This happens at every school, im sure you even have the few at osu/usc/uf/texas who root for others... You seem to take this so seriously, its really not that big of a deal.. There are no rules for being a fan.. I think i met you last yeat outside of the uconn vs usf basketball game.. You told me you hate osu since they tried to sue OU or something... Yet I have been here for just over a year and a half, and sport my osu gear 2-3 times a week, yet no one has ever called me out...  But again, I never called you out. So why be so hostile just because you have a difference of opinion? Im not a ucf/ecu fan talkin crap, i am here to contribute to a bulls thread...I will say you seem to be one of the more opinionated persons on this board, which i would say isnt a good thing if and when you ever get highered by a decent company.. wow, i thought this topic was dead... anyway... i dont wanna spill my life story, but sometimes as bad as u wanna do soemthing if u dont have the financial ability to do so it doesnt matter... and again i do root for usf... just not nearly on the same level as osu... i agree with u, that u should not root agaisnt ur school, but u dont have to be a die hard fan of the team... And i will say again, if u think u have the right to tell me or anyone who i can or cant root for, u have issues... If u would ever like to discuss this in person as opposed to being an "online rambo", i work at the usf gym...

I just say if anyone actually thinks they have the right to tell someone who they are allowed to root for and who they are not, this person has personal issues and are as close minded as any human can be... I mean thats like telling someone what girl to like... come on... aint nothin wrong with stickin with ur roots.. And sometimes for more reason then one u cant go to the university of ur choice.. Even better point, someone mentioned this on the last page.. For the sensitive USF fans.. Some of u are so quick to tell people who root  for FSU/UF/UM/OSU  that they are wrong..  If u met a kid who goes to UF that is a diehard USF bulls fan, are you gonan tell him he needs to go root for his gators and he has no right to root for the bulls??? I highly doubt it, u would probably embrace him.... If someone feels a personall allegiance to another school/team, so be it.. Dont waste ur energy criticizing them, cause it prob wont get u anywhere...

I think the "u live here therefor u must root for us now approach" is very stupid as well.. I am on for staying with ur roots and rooting for the team u have been rooting for despite where u move. Now, rooting against the team of the area u relocate to just because u wanna piss everyone off is somewhat uncalled for. It seems we are referring more to pro teams, but i obviously practice this thru all of my sports choices. I have taken some heat on this board for my choice of college teams to root for.. I am a die hard buckeye fan till i die, but i def without a doubt root for usf when they play, and go to a larger portion of sporting events then most students at usf... So again, i support the staying with ur roots despite where u move.. But just dont be that guy at a football party in tampa that is the only one who week in and week out, roots for whoever the bucs are playing..

Very good player none the less.. But if thats what he told rivals, he lied... OSU was taking a look at him after there top DE prospect (ben martin, Tee martin's nephew) decided to go to tennesee.... He was actually supposed to visit last weekend, but osu decided they should bank the schollarship for next yr.. he was never offered a scholly, and right before his visit which would have been last week they told him they were not interested anymore... Also he wouldnt get thru admissions at osu.. Again, very good player none the less.. Actually i doubt he will qualify anyway... I think nebraska took away his scholly and gave it to someone else since they didnt think he would qualify...

My aunt works for bay news 9 and called me and told me that a usf football player, had a seizure in the athletic facility... She said she heard he is not doing well, but is not 100% sure... Hopefully hes ok...

I posted this in the other mike ford thread.. but i talked to amarri last night in the gym... he said mike will be moving in with him before monday.. he could just be saying that to get people off his back, but he seemed pretty open and confident about it..

I had about a 15 minute convo with amarri jackson yesterday in the gym... Nice  nice guy, he knows i work in the gym so when he saw me, he started talkin to me.... He said, Mike will be movin in on monday with him.... he said a few more inteersting things about his draft stock... but again, unless he is just sayin that to keep fans off his back, mike will b livin with him monday.. he seemed very confident about it.. PS.. please dont stone me this time for being a buckeye fan... just passing along info that i know is pertinent to yall..

I go to UF, but I transferred from USF... And I will root for USF over UF any day, but that being said I am a big UF fan. I can't see why you would root for a school that didn't want you...but you can root for whoever you want. Just don't be on this borad when USF wins the Big East in 2009. And lets see what OSU does against a REAL defense. See, it is possible to like other schools, but you can also root for YOUR school.  BTW, I like the screen name.  LOL well i think the i dont root for my school was taken out of context... I dont root for them passionatly like i do the buckeyes, but it snot like i odnt go to sporting events and when i go i dont root for them.. i mena think about it, if i didnt care for usf i wouldnt waste my time creeping around on there message board.. and in repsonse to "lets see what they do agaisnt a real d".... Well michigan has the best front 7 in football, 2 top ten picks on there dline.. but the UF d is def very tough and fast.. i look forwrad to this game.. well first off.. 1150 sat not too high, altho much above usf average... I also have a 3.6 GPA and am an accounting major.. id say the 2nd accomplishment proves to have a lil more weight.. and i was ready to let this die but someone had to say soemthing thats not tru.. and about the asteric comment.. Well I do think it was the right call but how about this.. In the 4th qtr osu is up 17-14.. 3rd and 7, chris gamble is held 3 different times with no penalty and then makes a catch that is ruled out of bounce.. The replay is shown and it is obvious that this was a complete pass and that the refs made a bad call.. had there of been instant replay the game doesnt even go into OT.. we get a first down with a min left and run out the clock... so if u wanna play that game u got ur call and we got ours.. but did u also no that the miami db coach said after halftime to his players "hold there recievers the refs wont call it" that is on espn u can search for it if u would like... bad karma there.. and to the poster who said here comes osu cause there in the title game.. i made a post syaing i thought texas was the best football state.. then the usf posters decided to start taking shots at me.. i made no ill comment to usf and i did not brag about the osu games... go back to page 3... i promise everyone my intention wa snot to coem here and brag about osu football.. not at all... i just differed from one guys opinion, he said florida is best state i said texas, thats all.. congrats on the bowl bid, this program is improving vastly..

No u are wrong.... Ohio is like fsu... a school that has the rep as the biggest party school and thinks its cool when there coach gets a DUI... One of my good friends got into ohio but didnt osu... explian that one.. and prior to the haulbrook era that might have been tru about the undergrad.. but not tru dude.. i dont know what else i need to prove u wrong then us news, princeton review, wall street journal, and a persons first hand experience when applying to both schools.. i understand u having some affiliation with Ohio have soemthing agaisnt the buckeyes.. but u r way off.. check what there business school is rated, check what there other schools r rated.. unless u r more informed then those very credible publications u r wrong.. and i didnt even try to apply to osu when i came out of hs cause i no i wouldnt get in.. menawhile i was accepted immediatly to usf and was told i have an extremely high SAT by counselors here (1150)... and this is not a trashing usf post.. this poster said something that is untrue that i needed to correct..

Altho i do not come here to trash usf at all... I just saw a broad topic and decided to put forth my opinion... And i no u gusy think im gonan sya Ohio is the best.. I do think the midwest passion is unmatched from any state...But i feel its texas, not only do they have passion but they have the athletes... Those big 3 texas schools r always sold out and rockin... and i didnt say nobody goes here as there first choice... My quote was "outside of medical students, i have met very few people who came to usf as there first choice".... My statemtn there was not attempting to down USF, someone said "thats y our student fan base sucks(i didnt say that soem other dude did)"... The i said no this is why... its a pretty accurate theory as to why u see so many other team colors around the school.. It may b an unfortunate theory but it is tru.. And again i dont want people saying i should get banned and stuff cause i am not here bashing u... I can barely read this. As for comparing Ohio and Florida as football states, there's really no comparison. The nature of the universities in each state is so different, it's just... different. Ohio was founded in 1804. Miami was founded in 1809. Ohio State didn't come around until the 1870's, and even then it was Ohio A&M. Ohio, Miami, and the later schools of BGSU and Kent State (Toledo was a private school the state absorbed, and Akron and Cincinnati are kind of crappy schools) were the academic schools of the state, while OSU was the vocational one. (Hence the A & M part.) OSU later got a president whom was close with the governor and shifted nearly all the state's higher education funding to Columbus. That's why OSU has 60,000 students and everyone else (UC excepted, if it helps you to think of UC as a USF clone then that would work) is in the 20,000 range. That's a bit of an oversimplification, as Kent has 30,000 students and Miami has 16,000... but you get the point. Schools in Ohio are also located in rural areas, not cities. Athens, Oxford, and Bowling Green all have populations roughly equivalent to the student population (20,000 or so). There are no Division I-A programs in Florida located in far-off, unpopulated areas. It's not easy to attract fans in these rural areas, first and foremost because they are poor (particularly in Appalachia, where Ohio is located) and second because NOBODY LIVES THERE. And then you have jokers like this USFBuckeye dude who cheer for Ohio State even though they don't go there, which I find laughable and pathetic. If you want to cheer for Ohio State, though I cannot fathom any reason one might want to, GO TO THAT UNIVERSITY. It's not like it's hard to get into or anything. Its not hard to get into??? Are u kidding me??? OK we are talking football... but dont even try to compare the academics at USF to ohio state.. please... OSU is ranked the 50 soemthing best school.. Meanwhile USF is in the 300s... Yes USF is feverishly trying to get better, I dont know who ur sources are, check wallsreet journal, check us news, check princeton review ...OSU standards are what UF's standards are... But anyway.. How can u hate on soemone for loving a school and a team but cant go because they cant afford it?? Classy post buddy.. well i am not normally for putting my life biography on message boards.. but since u asked.. I use to live in ohio, got hooked to the ohio state passion... I played football for a team called solon (were at one point ranked #12 in country).. but anyways.. we r in the upper cleveland area.. We played glenville (Ted Ginn Jr, Troy Smith, Ray Small, Robert Rose, Donte Whitner, Curtis terry).. We also played St. Ignatious who had tony gonzalez... I also worked out at a nationally known training facility where all those guys worked out... many college and pro athletes worked out there also, the owner of that place was Eric Lichter (who is now the strength coach at OSU)... So i by nature root for these guys.. and the passion of ohio state football.. I moved to florida halfway thru HS and now go to usf.. I go to USF because of economics, its a lil more exspensive to go out of state... Comparing rooting for a high school team and college team is a lil different scenario. Saying rooting for college teams that u odnt go to is idiotic... How mnay people across the country do this?? How mnay people who never go to college do this.. Again i am not bashing USF by any means.. I have a difference of opinion thats all.. i again dont mena to tell my life story but mr tuff guy decided to call me out...

"Best football state in the country" - i beg to differ.. U have the Jaguars who to this day have had 8 sellouts... The dolphins cant even sell out hone playoff games... Miami, yes the university of MIAMI just had 23,000 people at there regular season finale.. UCF cant get 30,000 people there consistently, USF a BCS school (2nd biggest school in southeast) has had one game where more then 40,000 people have been there.. -now the statement florida has some of the best athletes in the country, i might agree with.. but come on, u have a hard time proving ur point..
