Everyone should have known this was going to happen.  He played lights out against FSU and had a good game against Cuse and everyone expected the same if not better results.  It ***** that he under-performed and played like a red shirt freshman last night, but we still saw some of the magic this guy has.

All I can say is the future is going to be bright, BJ will learn from this game and we can all chill out and move on.

AND will set new team and BE records in the process.

HE'S A REDSHIRT FREHSMAN WHO STARTED THE THIRD GAME IN HIS CAREER

He's going to make mistakes.

+1

I have a feeling he is going to rewrite the USF and BE record books before his career at USF is over.  However, right now, Grothe would have given us a better shot at winning these big games IMO.  I didn't hear a whole lot last night from the guys in front of us that were all over BJ's jock when Grothe was playing.

Yes, but many posters were trashing Grothe the past few weeks and even saying BJ>Grothe.

Just repeating what those posters said.

I had a bad feeling that eventually BJ would have a poor game this year.  Unfortunately it was last night.

In my opinion, Daniels performance has been pretty consistent in the 3 games he has played.  His stats were not great against FSU.  He just happened to hit a couple of big passes.  He basically looked the same running last night as he did against Syracuse.

He is looking every bit a freshman in his decision making, running around behind the line of scrimmage and not throwing the ball out of bounds.  He will make some big, exciting plays and then some stupid plays.

Daniels did a decent job last night except the 2 INT. He just needs WR's to catch the **** football.

What more would you expect from a KID making his third start? There's a reason why professional athletes get paid and amateurs do not, and its the same reason why we go to school before getting a job. If you want perfection and fully competent and proven players go watch the NFL. BJ has tons of talent and it shows, but he obviously has much to learn. Just try to keep some perspective here.

Even rookie NFL players making there first three starts look bad at times so its just the nature of the game, the more experience you get usually you get better....we will see if the coaches can develop BJ any.

My two cents.  Daniels is not as good as Grothe, at least not yet.

Could not read situations.  Scrambled well, but didn't know when to let it go.  Tried to force plays (okay that is grothe like) but when he could have run where Grothe would have gotten a first, he didn't.  In a game like that, grothe would have run at least once every 4 plays - and we would have gotten momentum moving down the field.

Grothe was great on the short pass.  We didn't do short passes last night, tried some desparate bombs that mostly failed.

Offensive plays were, you guessed it, predictable.   Not Daniels fault.

In all, if Grothe were an 8 on a scale of 10, Daniels is probalby a 6.5 right now.  Very good. Athletic.  But not quite there.
