MAB, I understand that you think it's better not having gone and wasted the money.  Fair enough.  However, the implication in this thread is that those of us who did go were stupid or foolish for having done so.  That is unfair and uncalled for.  May not have been your intent but was the way I read it.

Like you said, this should be in the other thread....

But no......that was NOT the implication.

My question was totally aimed at those who did NOT go.  I simply wondered how many others felt as I did in hindsight.

No reflection on those who went.

Did I say anything that warranted the broad jump to your conclusion?

You started a thread titled "Anyone else glad they didn't drop the $$$?" minutes after the game ended (or maybe it was during).  There are numerous posts from others justifying their trips, so it seems as if others read what you wrote and took the same implication.  You may not have said it, but it sure came across that way.

Well, what others may have thought notwithstanding, this thread was CLEARLY directed to those who chose not to take the trip.

Did you catch the title of the thread??

"Anyone else glad they DIDN'T drop the $$$?"

Seems pretty clear who this thread is directed to, no?

If you had gone, you'd say "I had a great time and am still glad i went."

But you stayed home and want to justify your inability to travel.

Its not a better fan than you thing its a quit ******** thing.

Wrong.

First of all, "inability" would be inaccurate.  Could have made it happen, chose not to.

Secondly, yes...people here ARE trying to make this a better fan thing.  Read some of the posts on this and other threads, would you?

OK, did you know in advance that we were going to get obliterated ??

Something just doesn't make sense to my old brain here.  You are glad you didn't go because we got obliterated.  Yet you chose to not go for other reasons before knowing we would get obliterated?  So had you known we were going to win big you would have gone?

Carlsbad caverns were AMAZING and the cool weather was quite a nice break from the flrida heat.

A Bowl experience is much more than just a game and the Sun Bowl was a great experience.

Man, it's pretty bad when you gotta go to TEXASS to escape the heat....

I would have like to have gone had work today but I am glad I didn't go. I don't mind if the team puts a good effort out in a loss but to just go out and roll over like that wow.

That is exactly what I said. I don't mind a loss that much. But to be blown out and look like UCF, that just sucks.

spent $750 on plane fare, $150 for hotel, and another $300 on cabs, beer, food, etc.

i don't regret it at all.

the g/f and i had a blast at the Fan Fiesta, going into Juarez, and experiencing the culture and hospitality of El Paso.

as much as i'm disappointed (and frankly embarassed) at the lack of effort and poor coaching of the game, i would always rather experience the ups AND downs of my team IN PERSON.

Holy crap.

Anyone else glad they didn't drop hundreds or thousands of dollars on the flight / lodging / food / tickets, etc?

I was considering it, but man......what a waste of hard earned $$$.

That's a looooooooooooong trip back for those who went.

Actually it was a great trip win or lose. Too bad you couldn't make it.

I actually feel sorry for bandwagon fans like you who just don't "get it". You support the program win or lose. We need more fans like those who went to ElPaso over idiots like you.

Have a nice day.
