No shame in that game.  RRod's gotta take out the garbage before he fixes up the house.

Carr and his assistants got themselves fired.

I think he'll probably rehire a couple of them.  If he doesn't, he's an idiot.  I think he did the same thing when he went to WVU and ended up rehiring two or three guys - I think the better recruiters of the bunch to help out transitionally.

Even if they don't get another job, they'll be paid for the year.  Lloyd Carr had already made it so prior to the season.  No real travesty there.  But WVU is going to lose some serious people off their staff.

Good.  Leave Rod Smith to burn couches and kiss sisters while he calls Voodoo 5.

Garbage? Michigan's gone to the Rose Bowl, or a New Year's Day bowl in Florida, 11 out of the last 12 years. (The 12th year was an Alamo Bowl trip.) I know the maize and blue is sick of losing to Ohio State, but let's have a little perspective here. I find it hard to believe that the Michigan staff didn't have one assistant worth keeping. Especially when Rodriguez' WVU staff included the likes of Rod Smith.

I think it's akin to 'serving at the pleasure of ... ' sort of staffing. Those guys knew, when LC was asked to clean out the desk, that they were out as well. And, this is an opportunity for RR to put his 'stamp' on Michigan. Bottom line being, now that RR has his hand on the tiller, anything - good or bad - that comes from his staffing, is absolutely, 100% his. He won't have a 'should have cleaned house earlier' card to play down the road.
