LoL!  Yeah, this guy lead FAU to a 6--6 record in a no name conference and he's better than Grothe?

Nice try

Tim Teabag is not all that special.  half his rushing TDs were 5 yds or less.  he only had two TD runs over 10 yards.

he's a bootleg Alstott with an arm.

with all due respect

you are wrong

tebow is awesome

If you go by stats alone he is.  If you go by impact to team MG is #1.  TT is 2.  Anyone else is a distant 3rd.

Tebow's impact is pretty high too.  I'd have to rank Tebow first after the year he had, and MG second.  This kid at FAU is good but everyone on this board knows he'd be holding a clipboard wearing a baseball hat if he was at the same school with MG.

mg would have solidified #2 position with a win against ru

losing that game in front of world didnt help

yes Steve-- we are very aware that you know the Bulls lost three games in a row. You remind us of this in every single post regardless of the topic

Statistically, he had a better year than Matt and he put up good numbers against a strong USF defense.  Matt had a better team around him and didn't put up better numbers than Rusty Smith.  I would tend to agree with writer, statistically speaking.  If Matt can greatly improve his TD-INT ratio, I think that he could be considered the best in the state, if not the country.  Look at Dixon's numbers, look at Chase Daniel's numbers, look at Tebow's numbers - that is the TD to INT ratio needed to be considered the best in state of Florida and a Heisman candidate.  I hope he gets there and I will be obviously be pulling for him, I just don't have a pair of Grothe goggles yet.

NAME          CMP ATT YDS CMP% YDS/A TD INT RAT

Matt Grothe  214 357 2473 59.9    6.9    13 12 123.4

Rusty Smith  256 447 3352 57.3      7.5    27  8 136.6

Lots of good players come out of small, not so great college programs.  We're talking about the kid that led FAU to within a few missed, makeable FG's of beating USF??

I thought the receiver on the Saints was the only kid in Hofstra history to play in the NFL and then saw another guy's school pop up as Hofstra yesterday.  Don't remember the game or team.  Anyway, playing at FAU doesn't make him a bad QB.

FYI....wayne crebet (Sp?)  that small WR for the Jets a few years back played at Hofstra
