If we won out and were ranked top 20 I have a hard time believing we would slide to the PJC.  Could happen, but you think either Sun or Meineke would take us.

If WVU wins out and we win out, I think we end up in El paso.  We will be the second highest ranked Big East team, and the Sun Bowl may not expect any Big East team to travel that well there.  I would prefer Charlotte as the airfare to El Paso is 500 per person.

Rutgers sold out their Texas Bowl allotment... so the Sun Bowl might easily take RU over USF.

They can't take a 7-5 RU over a 9-3 USF.  RU plays at UL, possible loss.  Pitt will also play them tough, fighting for their bowl lives.

I think the 1 game rule is only for conference games not overall.  Meaning if USf is 4-3 in conference then a 3-4 Rutgers could jump them.

I thought it was overall record

Brett has written once or twice that it pertains to conference games not overall record... but I don't know 100% for sure.

Jax might take USF over RU and UCONN but TX is taking the later two over USF 'cuz both will travel much much better.

"Much much better".  Hmmm. lets think about this for a minute.

USF is #2 in BE Attendance, by a large margin.

USf brought 10K to an away game at FAU.  Has UConn or RU ever brought 10K to an away game?

Uconn has gone to a grand total of ONE bowl game, so there is no real history, so I don't see how any one can "assume" they will travel much better to El Paso.

RU has traveled well to last 2 bowls, but I just don't see a 7-5 RU getting a bid over a 9-3 USF, no matter what.  An 8-4 RU might get the nod, though.

Do you seriously believe USF fans will travel to TX?  Look at USF's previous two bowl attendance records.  The FAU travel was an anomally.  It only applies if the Gator selects USF.  Both UCONN and RU are in the northeast, schools older than time and have deep pocket alums.  Going to TX in Jan. will be a no brainer for them but for USF's 5000 fanatics won't necessarily be packing their families into minivans and crossover SUVs to drive three days to El Paso, TX.  Nor will they be jumping at dropping $1500-$1800 for two to fly during the holiday week on short notice and stay in hotels with elevated rates.

That would be sweet if its the Gator Bowl.  Thats a game I could actually attend.  Scout.com agrees with this projection so far:
