UF doesnt recruit from the same talent pool as us.  Some of the most talented kids we recruit are in the same talent pool as UL.  What school do you choose if your that kid the one who just won the NC and or team that is percieved as a midlevel team in the same conference.  Only way a UF national championship would hurt us is people on this boards pride that have a passionate hatred for the gators.  I think all will be made moot because even after last weeks let down games i think the winnder of the OSU UM game is still 2 tds better than everyone else they could potentially play, both teams were buying into the hype of the "Greatest Game EVER" and looking ahead.  And yes it would be a huge step forward for UL and the media perception of the BE but it still wouldnt benefit us as far as recruiting or national exposure for this program which are things this program needs to improve on in order to continue to move forward.

It'd be nice if USF won...  If UL win they have a shot at the NC game...when will that happen again?  The media can finally move on about how the BE doesn't deserve an auto bid.  I personally do not have a problem with an 8-4 team.  I think we'll beat either UL or WV.  I wouldn't mind it if the win came against WV since I doubt they're going to get an at large.

8-4 beating UL, or 8-4 losing to UL and beating WV....same record.  Same bowl.  Just my thoughts.

Oh, and I'm not rooting against USF...it's just that if we do happen to lose...it would still play out nicely.

We had this discussion and I got roasted for saying "IF we lost to UL it wouldn't hurt so bad if they won the NC".  I think if UL wins this week our game will be on ESPN so beating UL on National TV would be great.  Screw all the BS about the BCS and NC, I for one would be pumped about the win.  Other thing is what happens if the Ville went a NC game and got crushed ?
