Brawl could put UM in world of hurt with recruits

This is what I like to read! GO BULLS!

"My brother called me and told me he'd disown me if I sent his nephew to Miami now," said the mother of one of the Hurricanes' top defensive targets who wished to remain anonymous. "It's still his choice, but I doubt Miami will get past the family."

"I am not comfortable sending my son into that environment," said another parent of a top Miami target on the condition of anonymity. "The program seems to have lost control and it's going to take quite a turnaround to fix things."

Any parent sending their kid to play at Miami (or FIU for that matter) next year needs to have their head examined.  I hate to say it, but Miami will truly be signing only thugs (I hate that word when describing student athletes) next year as kids of true character will be looking elsewhere now.  That's just going to make a bad situation worse.  Donna S. needs a reality check if she thinks 1 game suspensions are appropriate for people over the age of 18 that broke the law in front of TV cameras.

it will hurt miami a little bit but come on...signing day is like 5 months away or so....

this, like everything else, will die down by then.  it will hurt a little bit but they still get a better class then we will.  as sad as that is.

No offense, but Clemson and South Carolina was nothing compared to this, but a very good article, and I LOVED the army fatigue thing back in the 80's that was awesome...

I don't care about perception or that they are a better program than they were ...

FIU stepped up and punished accordingly ... UM did not. AND then defended it.

The incident will hurt Miami recruiting, but not in a big way.  Once Miami hires a new coach to replace Coker, he will act like a strong disciplinarian and the parents fears will go away.  I still can't imagine anyone other than Butch Davis getting the job.  He cleaned up the program once, and hasn't gotten old in the meantime.  If he takes over, they will probably have a net gain in recruiting over what Coker would have done.
