Those of you that said Herbstreit doesn't know anything about us are right. Not only that, Herbstreit doesn't care about us. Not because he hates us, but because the show that he is on is all about RATINGS. He will continue to trumpet Rutgers (as will all the other ESPN shills) until they lose. Why? NYC is the biggest media market in the nation. ESPN actually hopes that Rutgers keeps winning so they can throw an obligatory bone RU's way each week on Gameday and keep the NYC market interested in college football. College football has to compete with the Giants, Jets, Yankees and Mets. The Knicks, Nets, Rangers and Islanders will be starting up soon too. It is a brutal market, so if the Gameday putzes can make a dent in it with RU, you can bet they will. USF is not even a consideration to the producers from ESPN, until 48 hours before we play on one of their channels. Now, if we can win some big games (like Louisville last year) we can start to turn those perceptions around. Like others have said, we need to knock off KU first, if we can. Then we can put the NYC media darlings to rest after that.Normal

So he doesn't think we'll beat Rutgers. Who cares? The Vegas odds will probably have them favored anyway, so why is it a big deal what he thinks? By the way, he won't be at the game Friday. He does Thursday night games for ESPN, and then travels to Gameday for Saturday morning.

Sure we aren't embarassing our opponents, but I'll take a win any way we get it. If this moron thinks this or that who gives a poop? We have to control (notice I didn't say worry) about the task at hand. THAT'S IT! Kansas will fall... So will the rest. And as ALWAYS... GO BULLS!!! tampajo Posted September 22, 2006 Group: Member Topic Count: 4 Content Count: 538 Reputation: 0 Days Won: 0 Joined: 12/27/2005 Share Posted September 22, 2006 He said that based on the fact that A) Their entire team is back from 05. We don't have a running game. C) He is playing well but Grothe is still a RS Freshmen. D) Both our lines are banged up. E) We can't stop the run, RU strength It's in his opinion that they will roll us. I don't think they will. But I've been wrong many times and I'm sure he has too. Good points, but ****, man, it's hard to give cred to a freaking muppet logo pointing a slice of pizza.....

They are just doing picks like everyone else. If both USF and Rutgars come into their game undefeated both will receive alot of press with the winner getting even more after the game. Good point about the NY market.

And hasnt played anyone with our team speed and defense > Are we forgetting what USF did to them last year? Our defense shut them down and we will shut them down again this year in Tampa. Also we finally have an offense that can move the ball this year. GO BULLS!!

That's not exactly easy They will be a tough opponent regardless of how many folks are giving them less than appropriate respect.

Hell, during the Alamo Bowl, he was perfectly objective calling for Michigan while Tirico was the one being biased.
