Well, I think SFU is a combo of UCF fans getting tired of always being referred as FTU.  While it's not an insult, it's not our name.  Also, USF tends to be called South Florida more than USF.  Putting the university name at the end is what people do when they really don't know your name(we've been called CFU before by plenty of redneck MAC people).  UCF fans who want to laugh a bit called USF UWCF in order to "correct" their geographical folley.

Doing that stuff isn't my thing.  To me, it's UCF and USF.

IMO, FTU sounds better.

Well, regards to all Bulls fans and others in this board.  While I don't necessarily enjoy the characterizations of FIU by a few posts here, I do understand where they come from.  We at FIU hope to emulate the path done by USF in bringing up a football program, a succesful one at that.  It is a "blueprint" that shows a program can rise to BCS level from scratch in a relatively short time without compromising finances and academics at the institution.  This will be our first true year in IA, after the two-year transition period.  

I am glad we are playing USF, UF, UM, and hopefully UCF as well in the near future, especially so early in our development.  Anyways, I am hoping we can keep our game interesting, and not a blowout.  Just keep in mind we are at a stage you guys were not that long ago either, where growth and success will not be measured necessarily by wins and losses......

USF can sit in the Big Least from here til eternity, they still won't come close to the Big 3 in the state. Do you realize that? Probably not. How long until the Big Least is dropped from the BCS all together, that's a joke of a conference to call it BCS.
