From the St Pete Times:

http://www.sptimes.com/2006/05/12/Sports/Bulls__Hurricanes_set.shtml

"How serious is Woolard about his team not traveling without getting a return game? Central Florida recently announced a three-game series with national champion Texas, including a game in Orlando to open the Knights' new stadium in 2007. Woolard said USF was contacted by ESPN about a game with the Longhorns, but he wasn't interested in an uneven series."

It's better to get the chance to beat (and possibly lose to) a nationaly ranked team on ESPN, rather that beat a nobody team with no TV coverage.

Now more than ever we need to take the risks...

A diservice?  Are you kidding me?  Playing a lot of 2 for 1s will hurt a program in the long run.  I'd rather stay the course and play 1 for 1s.

USF doesn't need 1 for 2's anymore.  1 for 1 with BCS teams and 1-off or 2-1 with non-BCS should be our standard now.

This year's schedule is a perfect example.  If the Bulls take care of business OOC they'll have a win over a Big-12 and ACC team and with a winning in-conference record they'll be knocking on the door of the top 25.

Can you just picture USF fans at a game against Texas? Bull horns up, hook 'em horns down.

As much as I think we should be beyond 2 for 1s as a program, I think that instead of a blanket dismissal, we should look at it case by case. I'd be willing to accept this one.

And why the hell is ESPN contacting us about setting up a series?! I love me some ESPN, but daggone, try sticking to being the MEDIA!

Bravo Woolard... we don't need no stinkin 2 for 1's... we should be giving out 2 for 1's to the likes of the UCF's of the world.
