  1. Not going to happen. The Buc's make millions off of those advertising boards. Those boards are paid for by companies that expect those advertisments to be there 24/7. If USF wants a logo there, let them pay for it. I don't know why USF can't paint the field, but if it is as easy as you would say, I would think the Bucs would have done it.
  2. Bien, I am curious how you can say that UCF is funding with bonds only.  2,000 apartments are owned by the UCFAA.  Rents are said to be $2,370 for each dorm/apartment each, per semester.  That is $4,740,000 per sememster.  I know there is a debt service with that, but its still going to be a great revenue source.  And to have national credit tenants on a ten year lease, that is better than future ticket sales as well.  I think UCF has made the model many universities will follow in the future.
  3. I have done some work for FGCU and I can tell you what they are building down there is something very special. While their academic buildings are nothing to look at, they build their athletic facilities first rate.
  4. I hate to burst your bubble, well, I do enjoy it, but take a closer look at the University Mall. Mr. Glimcher does not own the land or buildings that are Sears, Burdines or Dillards. Thus, it cuts the property in half at best. Now try to buy out those three companies and you can add another $50 million just starting, but first you have to find another location and buy them that as well.
  5. Woolard is doing a diservice to the USF fans and should grow a set and stand up to Leavitt.
  6. Hell hath no fury as a player scorned. Peyton sounds like a guy that would love to throw dirt, if there is dirt.
  7. Okay, so lets call it a 3 hour recruiting tool than. Every kid that UCF is interested will get a call or a text message the week before the game. How many kids will decide to make that official trip to UCF because of the game? No telling but considering what our campus will look like by 2007, it sure won't hurt. Anyway, the subject was UCF vs USF. S.Bien will want to convince everyone that USF is better off getting one for ones with other teams or two for ones from the likes of FIU or FAU. No one can argue where USF is today, and what they have done has worked for USF. But now that USF is in the Big East and because there are now 12 games instead of 11 every year, USF is in a bit of a quandry. USF will have to schedule three home OOC games every year. I ask you this, why would a decent BCS team schedule USF for a one for one when they can schedule other schools for two for ones? USF does nothing for them, if they want to get into Florida so bad, they will just do a two for one with FIU or FAU as well. And how much longer before FIU and FAU say no to two for ones with USF? The arrogance that S.Bien shows, I hope for most USF fans on this board, your AD does not have. There are not enough teams in the Big East for USF to piss away a good, guaranteed game every year. It only hurts the fans of both schools, who apparently have shown by attendance, this to be their favorite game.
  8. I hardly think you will find anyone complaining from the UCF standpoint when it comes to a 2 for 1 and I think you know as well as I do, that it will never happen. UCF's 2007 schedule is complete as well and there are 11 games scheduled for 2008. I just hope for your sake and USF's sake that FIU and FAU bring over 10,000 fans to the game because from where I am standing, that is a loss of over $200,000. Smart business. impass, how about stupidity. As I said before, lets see how long it takes USF to realize they can't guarantee the payouts those one for ones will want. As to why UCF wants to play the game, brains, they understand teh financial aspects of the game, also, O'leary is probably pushing for the game because is not a coward like THE JIM. You guys just don't get it, or you just don't want too. Here is a hint, its more than a football game. A nationally televised game on ESPN, on campus. UCF will be able to show off what UCF is all about, not just a football game. There will be aerial shots all game long showing the campus, new housing, new buildings, new basketball arena. Think of it as a three hour commercial for UCF. There is no doubt as to the beauty of UCF's campus, we are trying to show it off, not hide it.
  9. Maybe you have not noticed, but UCF is building their on campus stadium and Texas is coming to town. Why would UCF ever give USF a 2 for 1. That is a S. Bien pipe dream. Someone ask him how USF plans on filling three OOC home games every year?
  10. Well I can help you with this, UCF will NEVER do a 2 for 1 with USF. As long as UCF can get 2 for 1's with the likes of Texas, Miami, VT and others, there is no reason to ever give USF a 2 for 1. Also, UCF does not need OOC games as bad as USF. Good luck with those 5 OOC games every year.
  11. UCF will not beat UF, but what this game will do is let UCF see how the spread offense should be run. UF runs a close offense to USF, but UF does it with far superior talent. UCF will benefit from playing UF, the following week will be like a game played in slow motion compared to the UF game.
  12. If Tennessee drops UCF, you will get your wish of playing real teams. It looks like UT will still play Southern Miss and Northern Ill. Yup, impressive OOC.
  13. you have three very good linebackers. Outside of that, USF's defense is as untested as UCF's?
  14. It was as expected. It was not really in game format, just a designed play scrimmage. The defense looked good, but I hardly think they are as good as they looked. The offense looked good at points, but they have looked better in other scrimmages. Bascially as I thought, the defense always have an advantage in spring games.
  15. Rule of thumb for spring games. The defense is never as good as they looked and the offense is never as bad as it looked. You have to remember that for fourteen practices in a row, the defense played against the offense, the players saw every look, formation and play the offense was going to run. It's easy for a DB to jump a pass because chances are, he knows the route that will be run, or at least has a good idea at it. DL or DE's can jump the count because they know the cadance of the QB they are playing against. So basically, your QB's and RB's are probably better than they looked and your DB's and DL are not as good as they looked.
