We need Big East caliber talent and you cannot get that coming off an 0-16 league season combined with a no name coach.

Leonard Hamilton was able to do it with one win and zero win seasons in his first three years. There's no reason why it can't be done here ....

We consistently could not beat Cincy, Marquette, and Louisville in C-USA now add WVU, Nova, UConn, Pitt etc to the mix and it is a different landscape to try and win than Miami had to deal with.

Big East then to the Big East now is comparing apples to oranges

I am honestly cheering for UCONN to smoke us by 50.  Anything to create an uproar.  This guy has no business being our coach.

If they miss out on Huggins, they deserve 10 more years of poor basketball.

My hope is that this is coming out to calm the nerves and make the seperation a little classier.

hopefully the boosters will pony their money up and say -- "no huggins, no money."

that is what they do at big football schools.

zook was run out of town by the boosters at UF.

Zook and the Gators is way different the Mac and USF basketball.

Florida has an amazing, WINNING team before Spurrier left and Zook was hired. Zook killed it. He was a great recruiter, but he did nothing with the team.

USF's basketball program when Greenburg left is not what Florida's program when Spurrier left was. Completely different.

Greenburg's last year: 15-14

Mac's first year: 7-20

Mac's second year: 14-16

What was wrong with the 14-16 year? It wasn't winning, but it was close.

Then, USF switches to the most difficult NCAA basketball conference.

Honestly, what DID you expect from this season?

First year in the most difficult basketball conference. Mac had a lot of injured players. He had a great player die. He had a great player leave the country.

Come ON! Hello?

I know a lot of you on here think that Woolard is making a terrible decision to not fire Mac. But seriously, it is not fair to fire a coach based on the season he just had. I know you guys want it, but he needs another year to give an honest impression of what he can do with this program. With the first year in a brand new conference, you can't expect greatness like you wanted. At least not with all the problems and challenges the team has faced this year.

And besides. There is more to this than just Mac. You think Huggins can come here and make USF basketball great in one year.

Do you think this would even be an issue with all of you if Huggins wasn't available? Yeah, you'd still be pissed about the season, but would you all be spouting off, "Fire Mac, Hire (insert coach name here)" if Huggins were still at Cincy, or not wanting to coach anymore, or whatever?

Mac hasn't been able to sustain a full bench for 3 seasons.  It's a combination of the players HE recruited and HIS decisions to kick HIS recruits off the team.

And your "what's wrong with 14-16" comment?   People taking satisfaction with the fact that 14-16 has been our best record for 3 years is the problem.

Here here Beastie. Right on.

Sometimes you make your own luck in this world. Mac knew what he was getting into with Sills when he recruited him. He knew about Cann's injuries.

Yes, he has had some tough breaks, but he has to be held accountable for some of the ailments a short bench has been causing.

cusa

7-20

14-16 (wins over 2 ranked  teams)

BE monster

7-23 (with many many problems)

15-15 (5-10) next year

18-12 (7-8) the following year, NIT

i think mac can and will get us there

IMHO anyone that expects more than that, even with (super coach) is

smoking some serious stuff.

Exactly why no one cares what you think... no fan of USF would wish that we lose by 50... EVER.

EVER.
