Hold up everyone. Let's take a step back and play it cool.

So am I the only one reading this as Golesh should move on from Orlando and pick up the almighty bull shark defense with Tom Allen???

At least that's how I read it. Don't think he means that Golesh is looking to leave...

He's been saying that CAG should try to bring Allen back to help our defense.

We need to target some of their transfer players

WE should be targeting any guys with talent on offense  and defense.  If the players enter the portal after their coach is fired or leaves they can be contacted immediately for recruiting. I think most the quality starters will stay or transfer to a better fbs program. We maybe able to land a few back ups or guys who had limited playing time. For example Brown-Stevens and Alexis were a decent find from Texas and Minnesota. Hoping we can find some diamonds in the rough. They werent game breakers, but definitely contributed more than most of the other power5 transfers from the Scott era. Khafre Brown was from a transfer from UNC and he has been productive. We really need to identify and target the backups that have talent that could play next year.

The transfer portal opens in less than a month, and coaches and personnel directors are already preparing for the "chaos" element.

I thought you said they had to wait to enter the portal. A few names have popped up recently -- why are they allowed to enter?

There are a few exceptions to the portal windows. Graduate transfers can enter at any time. Even prior to the immediate-eligibility waiver, grad transfers had been able to play for another team right away because they fulfilled their undergraduate requirements.

Players whose head coaches were fired during the season will have an immediate 30-day window to enter the portal, allowing other coaches to talk and communicate with them if there's a future spot on their roster.

I think Orlando was a big winner this weekend by holding them to 14 points. I think Orlando will get another year

Agreed, it's only been a year and will get another year for sure.

Nice, makes sense. Allen's defense was incredible.

I think that’s the take. If it’s possible Goach would have to move fast. Allen might get some decent offers if he hesitates. Not sure we will cut ties with Todd though

Definitely. Seems like a good time to check the market.

As CAG would say, that isn’t the standard. Charlotte only averages 17 ppg to begin with… we’re a post-season team now, we have a higher standard than calling someone a big winner for keeping a very bad team a FG below their average. He did his job, but I wouldn’t call him “a big winner”.

I agree. Personally if he is fired it would be deserved, and if we could get an elite one we should go for it.  I just meant that the performance yesterday took some heat from him, and probably gets him another year.

But no doubt that the defense wasnt good enough this year

Golesh keeps talking about building something special here.  Hard to do that in one season.

With the current atmosphere though... We have to worry about coaches and players.

What coach, other than Golesh, stands out?
