GAME DAY vs. Charlotte

 

USF returns to Raymond James Stadium after a run of five road games in its last seven outings to face Charlotte, the fifth first-year AAC foe the Bulls face in 2023 and the third first-ever meeting with a program on the year, joining Rice and UTSA. The Bulls enter the game seeking victory No. 100 in the stadium they began playing in in 1998. The Bulls are 3-2 at home on the year and a win would secure USF’s 18th winning record at home in 27 seasons. USF also is looking for its 11th bowl bid in program history, first since a 2018 appearance in the Gasparilla Bowl.

SENIOR NIGHT: USF will honor 15 seniors prior to the game.

RECORD SETTING OFFENSE: Alex Golesh’s offense enters Game 12 having set or looking to post: 1) the program’s first 3,000-yard passer, 2) the program’s first 1,000-yard receiver, 3) the program individual record for season receptions, 4) the best individual pass completion percentage in program history, 5) the team’s season passing yardage record, 6) the second individual 4,000-yard total offense season 7) the sixth 5,000-yard team total offense season, and possibly the seventh Bull 1,000-yard rusher in a season by season’s end.

ATKINS DIET - 100 shy of 1,000: Sean Atkins has set program records for receptions and receiving yards while injecting reliability and explosiveness into the Bulls’ offensive diet. Atkins has seven or more receptions in each of the last six games, as he is shattering USF’s season receptions record (67) with 79 catches and, with a career-best 10 catches for 92 yards at UTSA, surpassed USF’s season receiving yards mark (879) with 900, just 100 shy of the program’s first 1,000-yard receiving season. He is averaging 8.5 receptions for 95 yards over his last six games.

LORD BYRUM - 175 shy of 3,000: QB Byrum Brown’s four 300-yard passing games on the year tie Quinton Flowers (2017) for the USF season record. His 2,825 passing yards are just 86 shy of the USF season record (2,911, set by Flowers & Matt Grothe) and are 175 shy of the program’s first-ever 3,000-yard passing season. He joins LSU’s Jayden Daniels as THE ONLY TWO players in the nation with 2,800+ passing yards and 700+ rushing yards, just the third player in USF history to achieve those marks in the same season, joining Flowers and Grothe.
