Not building the OCS, not going into debt, and the option to spend money on other needs is a valid point.  Spending that money on NIL is not because it is in no way shape or form legal to spend university money on NIL...........

Correct - They can’t use a loan for NIL either and honestly while I give to the Fowler Collective I think most making a stadium gift would NOT gift NIL at those same levels. People expressing these brilliant ideas most likely are not forking over 4 or even 3 figures to NIL now.

The one positive that we have over the Goliath's is that we are lean, able to pivot, have no giant expenditure that will never be finished paying off and we have nothing to lose.

.......

An OCS does not solve for any of the problems anyone has with supporting us who we play and how we are playing does. That is what actually matters and anyone that has sold you anything different is lying to you because they have no solutions to the actual problems they are in charge of resolving.

I left off your first paragraph because it looks like something like the Agile RICE model that I would implement at work and I don't think, humbly, that it's fit for purpose in this discussion.  Every other school in the state has an OCS because they see the same thing I do.  School pride and game day experience.  That's the problem I'm solving with an OCS.  I'm not solving the problem you're trying to solve.

Second paragraph - So how is that an advantage?  We're lean and able to pivot?  To what exactly and how has that ever worked out for us?  We are floating in a sea and don't control our own destiny.  What we can control is creating a college game day experience.

I strongly disagree with your last paragraph.  Think about what you're saying, if we played bigger schools we would get what exactly, better attendance?  So are people coming to see these bigger schools or USF?  Wouldn't it be better if we created an environment where people would come to the games to see USF regardless of who they were playing?  Right now we are a bad team with an anemic fan base with no history and no stadium.  No power league really wants us.  The old guard hated us in the Big East and couldn't get out of their fast enough . They let us into the ACC just our mere presence will kill it. So ****'em.

I understand why old farts aren't coming to the games.  You are trying to fix that by playing Goliath's game.  I don't think that will work - in fact it hasn't worked.

Either way it doesn't matter, they are building the stadium.  Will you go to games in the new stadium?  I hope so because you'll have a great time and possibly a change of heart on this.

No you are purposefully ignoring everything to come to a bad conclusion for no other reason than you yourself want it. Not every school has an OCS, Miami does not. This was brought up in the first response when you left them out because that is not where you toured with your family. These other teams have them because they have no other options, this was also brought up to you. At the moment the only two teams with an alternative NFL stadium option are utilizing that option. Also teams in other states that have the option are also exercising it. Had the Citrus Dump not been renovated which would require UCF to find a new place to play for a season and in that renovation discussion they not make it abundantly clear they valued UCF exactly zero they would still be playing there too.

Woah now!  We had a history and flushed it only to many years later weakly try to connect to that glory.  At the time we had that short history of success and a much larger fan base, we should have moved forward with the stadium then.  That should’ve been a slam dunk. A no brainer.    Instead, we isolate donors and fans alike.

We’ve been plagued with sort of bad timing and bad decisions, mishaps and misfortune, unfortunately.

I guess Puc but not just I want it. Many people want it and see the wisdom in it. It's getting built and you will hopefully change your mind.

Hey man it's cool we don't see eye to eye.

I get why you want it and like Brad there was a time where I too did and would have seen it as a priority but this is just not that time. We have bigger fish to fry and should be singularly focused on them. The landscape for us and the landscape of college football has shifted and we need to figure out how to navigate it as it exists now and not in some nostalgic way and that navigation is easier when not being bogged down by a $350 million chain that will dictate every discussion and decision. I still appreciate your right to be wrong though and certainly admire your passion.

Now, the world don't move to the beat of just one drum
What might be right for you, may not be right for some
A man is born, he's a man of means
Then along come two, they got nothing but their jeans

But they got, Diff'rent Strokes
It takes, Diff'rent Strokes
It takes, Diff'rent Strokes to move the world
It takes, Diff'rent Strokes
It takes, Diff'rent Strokes to move the world

Everybody's got a special kind of story
Everybody finds a way to shine
It don't matter that you got not alot
So what
They'll have theirs, and you'll have yours, and I'll have mine
And together we'll be fine....

Because it takes, Diff'rent Strokes to move the world
Yes it does
It takes, Diff'rent Strokes to move the world

Brad, I feel like that brief period is long forgotten in the world if college football. We had some wins but we never won anything.

Also, during those times the anti OCS folks were louder than ever if you recall.  They were wrong then as now.  Ray Jay has been a lodestone around our neck from the beginning.  Alas, it will soon be gone.

Our issues on things being forgotten, why the good times ended and why things have gotten so bad can be traced exclusively to who we fired and then who we have hired since then. If UCF and us switched hires and stadium situations entirely, both programs would be in entirely different situations now and no one would be discussing this as the most pressing thing that held us back from their failure.

I appreciate all the logic and common sense that's been inserted but this is one of those expected threads following a game like last night. This board has a valued role as a cathartic harbor ....

Thanks Trip, I’m glad you could  see the venting and frustration when seems like others have their literal glasses on.
