From a business standpoint, it seems like a slam dunk investment to me.  We get the recruiting edge and then you would have a market like that playing big games in the south.  It seems ignorant to me to ignore Tampa Bay.  Huge huge upside.

Agreed. Seems like USF would be a great investment.

It's all a bit circular. Some people say USF is irrelevant because it's not in a so-called "power" conference. They also say USF would remain irrelevant, even if it was in a so-called "power" conference, but I'm not so sure.

There's no magic to it. If USF were in say, the B1G, USF would become relevant overnight, precisely because it would be the only Florida school playing against Ohio State and Penn State. There's a significant recruiting advantage to that, not to mention the TV money that would eventually come in America's 11th largest TV market.

We need CAG and the university administration to develop athletics to the point that it could be a viable option to the B1G or the ACC if Florida and/or Miami leave (no need for our degens to point out that it isn't viable now - I know that, so you can save your snark). SEC and Big 12 already have their Florida schools.

Yeah circular is a perfect way to describe it.

I think Big 10 is the best conference we could ever get in. That conference isn’t going to break up anytime soon and it’s filled with great competition. ACC on the other hand, that one might break up and we’d be left with the weakest pieces.

I was trying to work that into my post but it was a little too busy so I refrained, thanks for picking up the slack.
