I think the offience will struggle for most of the year because they don’t have any real play makers at wide receiver. Hopefully the defense continues to improve and the offense gets proficient enough to win.some games

I, for one, would like to see:

1. quick routes for  few yards here and there

2. feed Nayquan the rock

3. BB gets more comfortable going through his progessions

4. BB also sometimes throwing the ball away.

You make the other team respect the short pass and the run, boom splash play on the next one.

I'd like to see more bubble screens with effective blocking by our WRs.

Mix in a short to medium-range slant or two.

An occasional wheel route with Nayquan would be nice.

A jet sweep every now and then.

In other words, we need more creativity! I'm just terrified of regressing back into Sterlin Gilbert-era playcalling. Florida talent demands you get guys into space and let them do the work for you. Your playbook can mature in the meantime.

The thing here is, this offense is built to run without a real progression development for QB's. It's all about the first read, getting open. But I agree, BB needs to be more comfortable in the pocket. So here's what I think may help in the interim -

1. Bring a TE into the back field to pass block

2. Utilize more RB dumps as a safety net if the first read does not create space.

3. Cut BB's rushing attempts in half. I'd rather he throw the ball away and we punt than him scramble and either fumble or get injured even if he picks up the first down.

4. Let the RB's work. We have road graders, not pass blockers, let's utilize them.

He never called him sell an offensive genius. . .

Ok - but he is an offensive coach, since all of his position and coordinator jobs were on the offensive side

Ultimately, I believe he will figure it out

Also, like others, I am pleasantly surprised about how quickly the defense has come along, considering that is not his forte

If he is able to make such a turnaround on the side of the ball where he is least experienced, imagine what we will look like once his true expertise kicks in!
