Goach never had a chance to keep them. I don't remember when Horn entered the portal, but it may have been before Goach was hired. And Weaver quit on the team with 3 games left so he wouldn't get hurt

Thre's a part of me that thinks that even if you do OBTAIN better talent, the real heavy lifting is RETAINIG said talent in the more challenging portal/nil era. Human nature being what it is, there are more forces at work than the let's-go-team! environment of yesteryear. If things aren't panning out here, no reason not to turn in my papers and head over there. Why stick around for four years hoping that I might get a highlight reel in year four? Striking while the iron is hot and all of that..🤨

Coaching!

They had the skills to play here, probably just didn’t fit them well with the environment they were surrounded in. Our culture at that time was probably a joke. The way we played games the last few years has been a joke. Some of our transfer players will shine because they have something to prove. They want more than what we offered.

Good luck to all those young men who want more and are playing their asses off.

Easy answer. CJS defenses sucked. Sure USF scored tons of points but couldn’t find a way to make a stop on defense.

This is the one.  The offense was great.  Great o line, 2 good QB options and fantastic RBs.

If there were not the hype of Deion, Shedeur, Hunter, and Edwards, the headlines for Colorado's upset of TCU would have been "Two transfer receivers from USF lead Buffs to upset of TCU."
