His stats this year were fine. I am guessing they just didn't want to have him split time with football and decided to cut ties.

I mention that, because I bet he could play baseball again if he decided that was his career path instead of football.

Small sample size, but a 40% strikeout rate is not promising. I am sure if he could focus on baseball year round he would improve. Always good to have options.

He was hitting .282 this year. That is solid.

MiLB releases lots of kids around August 1 to make room for the new draft class. It's just part of the cycle.

He's 22 in a month and spent 3 years in the short Rookie League.  Probably done although if he wants another shot he may be able to get on with someone, but my guess is it will be more of a roster filler than a legit prospect

Somewhere there’s an interview with him on TBP. I think he said he gave up baseball for now so he could concentrate on football. Said that when he decides football is over he would go back to baseball. IIRC😎

Our baseball team need all the help it can get. Would he be eligible to play since he played rookie ball or is he only allowed to play non-baseball sports?

Wish him luck with that.  At least from a MLB prospect standpoint.

Make sense why he came back to football  in his hometown and try to stand out on the field .

I'm sure the Tampa Bay Rays have hit him up.
