Really? I don’t think the last three you are even considered….but I guess if you’re a particular team with a particular penchant for Softball you might muster the courage to suggest it as being relevant.

Football and basketball only really matter but the others can help. Vanderbilt is definitely not a football or basketball school.

We are stable at the bottom of the conferences, this is the vision of AD MK coming to fruition.  Extensions for everyone not based on results was a sure way to run an athletic program to ground zero.

The thing is college power expansion really only cares about football, mbb, baseball, wbb, and softball. Football matters most because it brings in way more money then followed by mens basketball.

"An athletic program" is more than five sports, tho... and the Learfield standings is one of the best measures of how the entire program is doing is doing... and it seems even in this dismal season when the "big three" had rough seasons, that USF is doing better than it's conference mates.

Part of the reason USF isn't higher, beyond the lack of success in some of the most important sports, is the Learfield counts sports like ice hockey, wrestling, fencing, rifle, swimming and diving and more that USF doesn't offer.

I agree with Brad, Football and MBB are everything, the rest are irrelevant. WBB and softball?  Baseball? This was random and inaccurate, stick to the extension talk, there is still some meat on the bone on that topic.

Zero points for those two sports says it all.

I am pretty sure that most on this board would be thrilled to be irrelevant in the SEC

It sure beats being irrelevant and at the bottom of  the AAC fake power 6 conference. Time to rise up.

Not arguing that.  See @Outlaw’s reply.
