Nice article on the wr coach in the Times today ..... but one thing that was a little disconcerting that I didn't realize, "Only one of last season’s top five pass-catchers remain." Breaking it down further, we've only got 33 receptions from wr's coming back, with 14 belonging to Atkins. Obviously it's going to mean a ton more opportunities for returners with promise like Terry and Ajou, and the 6 being added (4 recruits and 2 transfers), but there's still a lot of unknowns on that side of the ball that some seem to think is going to be okay ..... which it still could obviously. Those that set expectations need to take a hard, rational look at this first year.

I feel we have plenty of good receivers, we just need to distribute the ball better. Once BB got in the game more players got touches.

Sorry just pot-stirring.

This will be a fun debate going into the season.

Is there a debate?

Ever thought about how a center should receive the ball before he snaps it? The Bulls have.

******* love this. Its been clear since we hired him that Golesh is obsessed with attention to detail, Idk how big of a deal this example is specifically but obsessing over the small things goes a long way in this game.

Really get Mike McDaniel/Sean McVay vibes from him

Let's hope the defense gets lot of extra attention.

That has been hands down our biggest issue. Fundamentals,  and playing smart has hurt us.

If we were making fundamental mistakes across the board, cleaning that up alone will make a huge difference. Attention to details will help the defense with techniques and positioning, which with proper coaching can come along sooner than later. I’m actually hopeful for this year. 6-6 is my hope.

They've both shown they can start at this level, with GB having a larger body of work, so hopefully CAG has a tough time, in a good way, come this fall ....

Outside of Tulane none of those teams were really any better than effin UCF. GB also had our best receiver Weaver playing for him.   UCF and Smu are pretty close to or as good as UF, Cincinnati, Louisville and BYU Last year. It may have been a tougher schedule but a young man that is  22 year/23 old veteran qb should not be outplayed by an 18 year old true freshmen like that. If you watch Brown's throws he is much more accurate, throws harder, and has a nicer spiral. GB is more of an  spread-run option gb with limited arm last year. To Gerry's defense he was under Jeff Scott and Brown got to play under Trickett and the interim coach. The whole team instantly played better on offense after the star receiver sat and Jeff Scott exited the building. If fired Jeff SCott after game 1 we probably would have had a much better season. IT was clear from the start the team under his leadership was not ready to compete.
