If we couldn't land Deion then I'm glad we went cheap.

Save the donors money to put towards the players.

We will see a huge shift in college football from bloated coaches salaries more towards player salaries.

Imagine if we had overpayed for tom allen or manny diaz.

the guy helped turn a 4th string va tech QB into the #2 qbr rated qb in the country.

This. I heard Moron Sanders tell his new players they should be focusing on the NFL, not NIL… says the guy making almost $6M a year with 0 FBS wins. Not gonna be much NIL money left over after they are done backing the Brinks truck up to his new 10-car garage. Most of the players in college don’t make it to the NFL, Slimetime.

Dear VPMK,

If USF is poor and we cant hire a decent head coach, then I have an offer for you. Hire me to be the head coach. Ill take 80k a year. Give me $75k a year for each assistant. Ill go find some high school coaches, bullspen members, former players, students, homeless guys, etc.

Hell Ill coach basketball for free if that job opens. Expectations are already low, how much worse could I do? The next 3 years as I likely lead us to a similar record as Jeff Scott you can save our tv 💰 and then have money for a decent HC in 3 years after you fire me.

Honestly this is a better plan than what you have come up with. Heres my number, call me maybe?

Flsportsfan83

why not giving this a try. let me join your staff. you would get national attention immediately

Who cares if he calls plays if he isn't experienced enough to hire a competent support staff!? We hired arguably the least experienced and least qualified candidate out there. To turn away a guy like Tom Herman for this is insanity.

cant disagree

talk about rolling the dice

didn't say we couldn't afford him. Glad we didn't overpay for him.

sorry but coaches aren't all that special. a complete newcomer like Dionne came in and won with his paid players.

Recruiting is all that matters. I can't count the number of times I've heard that the only reason Taggart had any success was because he had Flowers and mack etc.

some coaches are very special.....nick saban and he is under paid

deion is a good coach and we would have been better sooner had he come here

nick saban is nothing without his underpaid players.

We will see a major shift in  dollars from schools/ coaches to the players. especially now with 1 year free agency.

you will see the top players enter the portal looking for huge signing bonuses from the highest bidders.

we are like a small market team in baseball. we can't spend like the yankees and dodgers.

Wonder what the feelings would be if we hired Les Miles . . .

Probably ecstatic?

Whatever though! Excited to see what Coach Go can do.

Everyone and their mom knows thats Heupel's offense, not his. Dude is Jeff Scott 2.0.

Was it Heupel’s offense when he replaced Frost?

Heupel did change up their schemes and incorporated more of an Oklahoma  fast paced deep ball passing spread attack  I believe. Same scheme at Tennessee
