May not be a popular opinion, but I for one will miss it.  Rivalries feel like part of college football and this is the only real rivalry we have.  It at least made every last game of the regular season interesting, 1-10 or no.  After this we just have…rebuilding…

Here’s hoping we bring it back in the future.  I’ll miss the hate.

It wasn't really a rivalry if you look back.  Shut them out 4-0.  Had our sights set on being closer to UF, FSU and Miami and further from MACtion.  Becoming a rival was just the formal first step in falling as a program, it certainly lowered expectations.  And look where we are.

Anyway, my feeling like Christmas Eve isn't so much that they're gone - most know they will never leave, that's their style.  My excitement is it's the final chance for this team (our team) to prove something.  And for all the people that think this is a rivalry it will be great.  For me, as a USF fan, it will be something seeing our boys find a reason and a way to win.

Incorrect again.  Just stick to what YOU know about you.

I wonder if there is more interest in our 1-10 team playing c or North Texas.  I would bet c all day long but everyone must cope using their own mechanisms.  The lies we tell ourselves can be amusing though.

We are where we are, cannot change the past.  With that said this is a game that generates much more interest than the rest of the games and this is the reason it is important NOW, the past is history.

Agree with that ^^^^ ...... Not so much with Paragraph 1 below but most of Paragraph 2, especially the highlighted:

This is a game that is more interesting to everyone else outside of USF. We are the snobs when it comes to this rivalry. We are just more advanced & better overall as a university

We are rivals due to location but I always felt more rivals with Rutgers and WVU. Hell, ECU feels more like a rival.

Gainesville is a rival with the Jacksonville Dolphins?  :)

Aren't the Gators closer to central florida than FSU?
