Watching the TCU program he built find success again (9-0, #4) and remembering our battles against TCU before they rejected the BE/AAC and went to B12....poor guy is a U of Texas analyst or something now walking around the Texas sideline.

I also have read a few things about him prior to being fired...but that's a guy that also has proven ability to build a top-flight program.

Yeah, I think he'd be a great choice. But and I hate to say this, is it better to be a coordinator in P5land than a head coach in G5land if you one day aspire to another coaching gig? I'm not saying stepping down to G5land is a curse ('cause I don't believe in curses or magic) but as the divide between P5 & G5 gets ever more defined it seems like a case of not did you go to school, so much as where did you go to school? I'd love to have GP coach here. I just don't think this project is something he necessarily would want to undertake. Could be wrong - which would be fine with me. Can't hurt to ask. All he can do is say un-uh (which is applicable to a number of things in life 😮).

Fact ↑ because what are the chances he comes knocking on VPMK's door?

VPMK said he has had many, many calls inquiring about the job. Would you want someone that showed interest, or would you go try to recruit someone else?

I would be thrilled with that prospect. Question is: Are we using a search firm and would they identify him as a candidate?

He recruited in Texas and guided TCU from WAC to CUSA to MWC to Big 12. He was also loyal by staying for 21 years. Final piece is he has a crazy record and is from the same KSU coaching tree as CJL, I believe.
