Again

he isn’t dominating. They avg 25 pts a gAme and give up 24

His offense nor defense is a dynamic style of plat. He excels in neither.

this would be a horrible hire with options available

1. Herman (i wasn’t high on this but he has won everywhere and was under a proven winner as mentor.

2. frost-from a pure dynamic standpoint he fits what we want to be. High powered offense who scores in under a minute. What he could do again with florida athletes leads your imagination to want him to have redemption from the pressure he was under back home.

3. jamey chadwell- the up and comer. Three  10 win seasons. Explosive offense.

it’s these three or bust in my opinion. Hopefully a new name sparks us but for me there is no other options besides these three.

gruden or leavitt is just old folks wishing this were the glory days.

More options will become available in a few more weeks…

although I assume we've got better sources in place to avoid that but you need to have your hc on board with that part.

The student-athlete tutoring services and grade surveillance has greatly improved throughout the last couple of decades. I’d like think it wouldn’t get to that level here. You’ll still have the occasional knuckleheads that will get caught cheating here or there but can’t see us becoming so academically apathetic.

Bull Nut, you WOULD post a video of a man saying "drop your nuts"

I think he was making a reference to the team acting like boys instead of men... I think.

Surprised no one tried to cancel him yet for toxic masculinity.

I agree with mango that Caldwell the coastal Carolina coach would be a great hire but not sure if he would come here.

Tell that to the mob on Twitter. They think he’s a lock. They even had a Space last night and some of Simmons’ family and agent were on.

I love how content we are to be able to hire from the MEAC…lol

We hired a coordinator from a team that won multiple titles and how did that go? We need a coach that can recruit and develop talent. Simmons fits that mold.

Simmons isn’t even dominating at the level needed to be a top consideration. Nothing about his career says gamechanger.

They went to the playoffs last year....is that not enough success?

I don't think that should be a problem here but this certainly could be ......

Since Simmons' arrival at FAMU in December 2017, his football team has been better on the field, however their Academic Progress Rate has consistently been lower than the NCAA requirement of 930.  In 2018-19, FAMU football's APR was 925 , this year 2020-21 it fell to 868, and the multi-year average was the lowest was the lowest in Division 1.

..... although I assume we've got better sources in place to avoid that but you need to have your hc on board with that part.

Gee, I wonder if VPMK has access to this information. I mean, he says they have a vision for the program and all. I would assume academics would still be part of that.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
