I don’t have an issue with giving Brown or Smith reps, but if CJS is playing to win (which he always should be), then any secondary QB reps should be after the game outcome has been decided

Clearly, having only one experienced QB as a backup was not CJS’ plan coming into the season, but here we are.  If Brown or Smith is the better QB option at this point, then CJS should just go with them regardless of the redshirt

Each of them can play in 4 games. So you could see Marsh/brown then marsh/Smith then any combination from there on out.

The most important part is we need to identify and develop  our future qb1 and qb2. Even if Gerry comes back they need to be ready to take over.

. . . Sounds more like something similar to what Willie did with Q his freshman year (sans burning the redshirt and giving him a start).

As I stated above, I do not disagree with doing this as long as it does not impact the game or Marsh’s ability to get into rhythm

IMO, CJS and staff have not done a good job in the past (‘20 & ‘21) creating game plans incorporating multiple QBs - specifically ensuring that play calling suits the skills of the QB in the game at the time

As such, as a fan, my preference is that CJS pick one and stick with him (at least while the game outcome is undecided)

Probably meant to give them a decent chance to win or something similar ......

Or maybe he meant that performing to his potential was all he could ask of the kid.

So middle of the 2nd quarter? 😀

Probably wasn't clear. Not putting it all on GB. I liked the way he played. But we haven't won. So to win, someone else will have to play even better than he was playing. Maybe Scott wasn't clear about him playing his best would be good enough. For what?

And, yes, the D needs to play better.

No worries. You are technically correct. If a QB that was playing better than GB was here, it couldn’t hurt.

We have no choice at this point. If Marsh goes down then we will have no QBs with in game experience. At least pop one of our QB's cherry this or next game.

As I wrote that, I knew that I was hanging one high in the zone for someone😊

Careful, these kinds of statements now generate reprimand.

I would hope by now people, especially Fearless Leader, knows I'm almost always going for the cheap laugh.
