So wait this elite offensive mind , elite offensive recruiter, and  co-oc /passing game coordinator has not developed an elite offense  as a head coach? Another stat showing how bad the offense has been under cjs. Shocked ...

LOL we haven't played a game with this group yet.

"Never" is a long time... but to get 1000 yards means averaging 83 yards per game (77 with a bowl game)... Most WRs average in the 15-20 yards per catch range.  So to be a 1000 yard receiver that means getting 5-6 catches per game.

In 2017 when Flowers through for 2911 yards, MVS had 869 yards on 53 catches in 13 games... barely 4 catches per game.

USF uses a lot more WRs than most schools, and has throughout the years.

Well not true all five  starting linemen are returning , several back ups for linemen, Weaver , Horn, Dollison, Carter, Atkins, Brown,Willis Brown, Seaborn, Berryhill, Reynolds,  Cucci, Williams, Magum, Joiner, Battie, Powell, marsh, and probably a few others were part of this offensive last year are back. The biggest issue is if we can run a scheme and plays that caters to our players with improved play from QB.  There is not magic wand that says just because a player has 1,2,3,4,5, or 6  years of college football experience they would turn into a better player. We have several solid pieces in each department Oline, receivers, running back, and hopefully  the new QBS(Gerry B,BB,Gunnar). We need improved coaching, improved QB play from Gerry B( I really think he is a big upgrade), improved play calling, improved schemes on offense to cater to our talent, and improved player development in year 3 from Coach Jeff Scott.  Now it looks like we will have some promising transfers (GerryB, Ajou,Dukes) but until we see results it is a guessing game. Lets just hope the new OC, Chad Morris advising, and Jeff Scott finally show us some elite offense this year.

This year basically comes down to how much of an improvement Shoop can make, and how much better can GB be than Timmy.   If Shoop improves to get the defense top 80 and GB is marginally better than Timmy, USF wins 6+ games this year.

I agree and if we don't win 6 games, go .500 in conference play, have a drastic improvement in the offense and defense, then we need to start exploring coaching options. We can't afford 3 or more seasons of losing in a row with college expansion happening . LEts hope Jeff Scott is the opposite of what his record is and really moves this team forward.

This seems like a reasonable expectation.

Expecting a coach to have a winning season in year 3 after "changing the culture" is reasonable.

The #80 scoring defense last year allowed 32 pts/game, we allowed 35. We averaged 23pts/game with Timmy. The defense may have to knock a few more points off that to maybe around 29 or 30 and GB will need to average an extra td per game for us to get to some of these predicted/expected results ..... with a pretty tough schedule, relatively speaking.
