Expecting a coach to have a winning season in year 3 after "changing the culture" is reasonable.

Well!  Let's see what happens 😀:iconic_u_black:

In the transfer portal era, we are seriously at risk of losing good players due to lack of stats.  If we see Weaver and Horn get 4-500 yards this year each, but have the talent to put up 800-1k somewhere else, there is a real risk of them leaving in order to put up stats and get drafted.

Honestly I think we're more likely to lose someone who puts up huge numbers for us.  The P5 now have the ability to offer immediate playing time and bigger NIL deals.

Conversely, if someone only has "just good" numbers there's less incentive for a P5 to poach em.  Sure the 'disgruntled player entering the portal' risk is still there, but there's also risk for that player of not finding a landing spot (and having even less chance at the draft).

Who knows what happens with bigger programs are poaching g5 programs for their best players.  Other than the QB from UCF did anyone notable even leave? I think his is more of a coaching change at his school and the new school he is going too. I can't blame him either. He is going from UCF to  top 25 program with multiple real championships.

You'll be hard pressed to see a 1,000 yard receiver at USF with our schemes and game speed. A receiver with that type of prowess is going to end up in a pro-style offense at a P5 school as they are typically five star recruits (he'll be that 6'4" possession receiver). It would be awesome to have someone with that skill level play at USF, we just haven't had it. Imagine Scott McCready hands with a Huey Whittaker body and DeAndrew Rubin route running. We've had some recent guys with some very good hands... however finding that total package would put that receiver in the Biletnikoff Award conversation immediately.

I think/hope the new offense with Morris advising Trickett is more of a spread/option  with more motion behind line of scrimmage, more RPO plays, more play action, more slant routes, and throwing in some deep passes when the defense stack the line similar to what  the older Clemson ( Watson/Boyd) and Auburn (with Newton)  teams used to run.
