I have to admit that I still have a soft spot in my heart for Mike Ford and 12 years later, I am still broken up by the fact that he got himself kicked-off the team prior to his senior season

Mentally, he was three bricks shy of a load…

Just like baseball, football is 90% mental.  The other half is physical.

Thanks, Yogi.🙂

I really missed with him.  I thought he was going to tear up the field.  Same with Ponton.  I recon that's why I am not a scout.

Unspecified violation of team rules - one of Skip’s first dismissals

Ricky Ponton was another one who had so much talent, but not much going on upstairs.  I believe he wore #5, so we can lament his loss in around 3 weeks

Too much Mack to be lamenting a Ponton.

True enough - lots of USF talent has worn #5, including 3 who played in the NFL (Mitchell, Allen and Mack)
