You will feel awfully foolish when this team of destiny goes on an unprecedented hot streak and goes to the final four.  I can’t fathom a scenario where we are not a top 25 team next year! #Go Bulls!

The University of Buffalo is going to the Final Four?

At least Coach is trying to bring in some fresh blood to hopefully make a difference.  I'm not holding my breath either.  But what we had last year sure didn't work for us.

I don't understand why we haven't had success since the upgrade of the Arena and the building of the Basketball center was suppose to make all the difference in the world.  In reality our BB program has not improved one iota since that happened........Doesn't seem to bode well for the new OCS and football program either, if you ask me.

I had a similar thought yesterday.  Nice city, pro town, beaches, lakes, very nice basketball facilities.  Why can't we recruit...must be something else.

The University has never prioritized athletics until recently.  The pieces are being in place however you now need a competent coach to pull it all together, unfortunately we don’t have one in either sport.  The facilities are huge but not everything.

I don't even think recruiting is the problem. I think its getting guys to not transfer out. In the last 10 years:

  • We've gotten high profile recruits to come here  (Egbunu, Perry, Holston, and Murphy)
  • We've had players have success here and decide to go end their careers in college elsewhere (Anthony Collins, Tulio Da Silva, Geno Thorpe, David Collins, Alexis Yetna)
  • We've had players leave here and turn into studs elsewhere (Zach Leday, Javontae Hawkins, Malik Fitts)

We get talent on this campus, most of it just leaves. At this point I don't know what it could be besides some mix of coaching and roster turnover that causes us to struggle, then there's a feedback loop of us struggling and guys worth a **** wanting to go elsewhere. I think we need some sustained seasons of around .500 or better to get some consistency and convince these guys to stay. If everyone was staying 4 years a lot of them would overlap and we'd have some depth and consistency

Hell yeah! I got to drink some Tito’s today and keep remembering that this program is pregnant with possibilities.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”
