I keep opening this thread with the hope he has been fired.

Will you be providing the buyout?

We struggled all year to generate consistent offense. Our shooting percentage shows that. Shouldn't the coaching staff be responsible to create opportunities for the players to get open shots.  Every game was a struggle to generate consistent offense, whether that open looks, layups, or getting to the free throw line.

Most of our possessions always end with some type of rushed shot near the end of the shot clock.

Players do need to make shots, but coaches don't get a pass on poor performance for the team.

The coaches are getting paid!

Just to be clear. I was not defending CBG. But a person, don't remember if it was you so not attacking anyone personally, can't say the guys are missing open jumpers and blame it on the coach. He's doing plenty wrong, obviously. Don't know if it is just an old school mentality, like Charlie Strong, or lack of talent. And I know we can blame the coaches for lack of recruiting but believe it has been said that the head coaching job at USF may be the toughest job in the country. We haven't produced a whole lot of NBA players here. I have no answers but know I don't want to watch in person next year.

No I did say that they missed open shots which is on the players.  I should have been more clear as it always seemed our shots always seemed to be rushed, off balance, or with the shot clock winding down.  So getting good open shots didn't happen very often, when they did come up the players missed those.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
