This is the same argument that the USWNT tries to make in soccer and it doesn't hold water. If you want more money then generate more revenue. 

Not being paid as much as the men isn't a gender pay gap issue, it's a revenue issue. For all practical purposes you are playing different sports.

If I recall the article correctly, they were responding to an argument being made by others that how could the MBB coach who sucks make more money than the WBB coach who is awesome,  and the paper used the revenue counter argument.
