Ahh…yes, thanks. Interesting, I wonder if people will have a hometown connection when none of the games are in town? I believe I heard this is only temporary but makes you wonder how much cash this league really has (even with a tv contract).

It is odd but the travel costs eat up a big chunk so they are trying a TV only concept.  With all of the prior failed leagues it is interesting and they are hoping with all of the legal gambling viewers this is a way to get in the black out of the gate.  Who knows if it will work but I like the out of the box thinking.

It certainly takes the pressure of gate receipts away. I’ll need to find a team to cheer for.

Maybe, but I was a General’s fan back in the day due to Herschel Walker. I also liked the Oakland Invaders uniforms. I’ll watch a few games then decide. Regardless, I would not get too attached if I was you these leagues come and go.

The New Orleans Breakers started off as the Boston Breakers. They were there for the first season. I actually saw the Stars on the USFL Championship game played in Tampa back in the day. It was actually a pretty big deal back then.

Good luck to Skip.  Hope this league is as fun as the old USFL, and it showcases a few players each year that end up in the NFL.  That would be the ultimate goal.

Why did the USFL cease to exist? What happened?

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
