lets see how recruiting goes

i am looking forward to that. if scott cant recruit he is toast

we need a real qb competition

mcclain reminds me of the ucla qb who started 4  years. makes great plays because of great athletism and talent but than makes bad plays. little improvement in decision making  in 4 years

if mcclain runs backwards again for a sack i would take him out of the game

If I were asked to bet on which is more likely,  A) Leavitt comes back at some capacity, or B) we have a winning season next year, I think I'd bet on A

leavitt will never come back because he hit a student

the liability risk is too great

A very rational and astute opinion.  The only issue is he had better get to work because if Rivals is to be believed, USF is dead last in the AAC recruiting at this time.

Shocking how this program cannot even muster a 4 or 5 win mediocre season.

you would think since we  are so bad but kids would have a real opportunity to play and build something special

recruiting is sales!!!!

you need to sell a vision

if scott cant recruit he is dead man walking

That is what I am hoping for (since this is a thread about looking forward).  He seems like one who can sell a vision.

As crazy as it may seem now,  I believe Charlie Strong was one win away from having us in the AAC championship game. I know CWT was without a doubt. 2016-2017 seasons seem so long ago... It's crazy we were consistently ranked and handling business not even 4 years ago.

But NOT because of Charlie Strong…in fact he did everything possible to make it not happen.

Are you implying he underperformed as a coach?

I’m wondering if his performance is why he never got another hc job.

A couple of things on recruiting to remember:

1 - USF will only have 83 total scholarships for 2022-2023 thanks to Charlie Strong.

2 - This year USF will have even fewer because we have a lot of players returning... so USF won't be able to bring in more than perhaps 10 high school players and then a handful more transfers.

3 - Recruiting rankings will change as coaches change.  Cincy is currently #2 on 247 - but if Fickell moves on, how many commits will drop?

To be honest, I think if USF only had the commits and transfers as of this reply, it will easily win 6 games next year ... with the chance to win up to 10-11 games total.

Who in the portal coming to USF is making people so excited? I saw the daily stampede was talking about how pumped they were with some of the names interested in us in the portal, I saw Jimmy Horn jr so optimistic about next year that he said we're winning the conference championship.

Are these dline transfers really that much better than the guys we had this year? Or are there some big names that have yet to be announced?

Right now we have two DL commits - one transfer and one freshman... there are more who are supposedly considering USF, but not committed yet.
