Skip seemed to do better at lower tier G5, formerly known as non-BCS in his USF days, schools.  Put him in an upper tier G5 or P5 school and he failed.  He also thought USF should run a pro set offens

I think this is a case of "maybe we can do better". If you look at his nine seasons there, six of them were winning seasons and the Bulldogs went to seven bowl games and lost only one. That's not too terribly bad, but I reckon that in football land, it looks average or so. And it's never to early to think in terms of putting together an audition tape for the next round of conference roulette. 😎

So we hire a co coordinator from a championship team and people want him gone. We hire a head coach from a "lower" level and that didn't work here with Skip but did with Tags. Not sure what's left to try. Don't think there's a formula for finding a coach. Didn't B Kelly start at Cent Michigan?
