Credit also needs to go to coaching and the other 10 executing! He has 3 less carries than Kelly for the season.

The 5-8, 165-pounder provides a quick change of pace: Tied an NCAA RECORD with two 100-yard kickoff returns in the same game vs. Houston (including the game’s opening kickoff), joining Utah’s Reggie Dunn (2012, vs. Cal). With three 100-yard returns on the year, he is one shy of Dunn’s NCAA season mark of four posted in 2012. LEADS THE NCAA with three kickoff returns for TD on the year and ranks No. 2 nationally averaging 36.3 ypr. Set USF season and career records with three kickoff returns for touchdowns in 2021 and his return average in on pace to break the mark set by J.R. Reed in 2003 when he led the nation with a 31.7 ypr average. Posted just the third 100-yard kickoff return in program history vs. Tulsa (10.16) - ninth in AAC history - and the first since Lindsey Lamar had one at Louisville in 2010. Twice named AAC Special Teams POW (Week 7 & Week 11), becoming the first Bull to earn the honor since kicker Spencer Shrader earned Special Teams POW after a four field goal performance at Memphis in 2020. Posted his second career 100-yard rushing game with 110 on just 10 carries (11.0 ypc) vs. Florida A&M (9.18), marking his second 100-yard game in a four game span, posting 102 (6.8 ypc) vs. UCF in the last game of 2020. He has led USF in rushing four times in his young career (twice in 2020, twice this year). Battie’s explosiveness is becoming well chronicled. As a junior in high school he ran for 2,133 yards on 249 carries for an 8.6 yards per carry average. Last season he finished second on the USF team in rushing with 332 yards and posted a 7.2 ypc average.

Correct. 5'8" 165 Freshman 23 Yards in Rushing Losses, leads running backs. Averages 5 carries a game and has had 4 receptions so far this season. #3 Rusher in 2021 so far. Not the best Pass Blocker. He's an incredible weapon, but not an every down back in 2021. Edited November 9, 2021 by E.T.
