We definitely need a big corporate sponsor to help get this project off the ground. Also, I don't see a problem with having to issue a reasonable amount debt to help fund the project, hell, most of us needed a mortgage to purchase our first home. Plus the fact that the cost of financing is still historically low. I don't want to hear that USF is starting a fund for the OCS and anticipate it being fully funded by 2050 with construction beginning in 2051. Sure- not as nice but we could control it and use all that money to make improvements directly to that property. We could have easily placed temporary stands up etc. So we are talking about 1998 here-- we were a 1-AA team. This would have been awesome. This serves the dual purposes of revitalizing the area and getting multiple stakeholders involved in the investment.

Trying not to be shortsighted. We certainly aren't getting light rail immediately but we also aren't getting an OCS anytime soon. Just saying there are bigger goals that can be met so that no one component is a boondoggle.

Light rail in Phoenix provides shelter for the homeless. What a boondoggle. Drops the panhandlers right off at the sports venues so they can put their hands out. I don't think that adds any value to a stadium. Certainly not to a campus. Same as when I rode the public transit to Orioles game. Turned out I was sharing that ride with multiple felons. Thank you Baltimore P.D. 1 2

Jerry Jones made sure the light rail didn’t go to Arlington, how else could he sell parking at 75 bucks a space, the light rail In an already bad neighborhood makes no sense unless you are trying to get more violent crime in the neighborhood, no light rail in suit case city aka north Tampa aka the hood.
