That's the problem, we need to make it uncyclical.

Only the elitist of the elite are uncyclical. We just need to reverse our good and bad cycle time spans ....

Lol. The puc comment is spot on with his current comments.

I had to sign back in to respond to a private message and made the mistake of reading this and I can’t help but respond. The issue is you are looking at survivorship bias and then determining that the only person that had anything that resembled success since CJL left followed a certain path so it must be necessary and is part of the process.

The issue is that every single coach that we have hired including CWT were horrible hires with awful plans for what to do when they got here. CWT did one of the most miraculous things in big time coaching and actually shifted the plan that got him here and what he had used his entire career.

Expecting someone to come in with a horrible plan that’s destined for failure and then hope that not only will they change their plan but actually change it to one that has a prayer of working isn’t a repeatable plan or something you should reasonably expect would work.

The person that gets hired should have a plan that looks reasonably possible to achieve here and if it’s not their long term goal should have a plan for the immediate future, a plan for transition and their long term plan. Look back at what CWT was saying and doing when he first got here and you can see that it was destined for failure, then look back at what CJS had to say about his plan and it’s kind of shocking we’ve even beaten 2 FCS teams.

Failure is only a part of the the plan for more failure and a lot more than just culture needs to change around here, also CWT had the benefit of actually recruiting well so that when he had a change of heart it was easier to be successful with it. CJS is failing in every single conceivable fashion including recruiting and maybe he will make the necessary changes to be successful at some point but he seems pretty well convinced that he is just following a part of a necessary process as did CSH and CCS.

Hire right and you don’t have to have huge cycles of failure as who is the coach doesn’t have to change what is the process for success and a forever pivoting vision is the issue.

Someone above the coaches head needs to set the process for what we recognize is a successful plan here and then hire for that position, you can have minor tweaks to how you carry out the vision but the vision shouldn’t change with every passing coach that has a shelf life shorter than the amount of time they think is necessary to carry out their vision we will never get to see fully realized either because they were so far wrong that they are dismissed or they were close enough to right that they moved on.

Wow, that post was war and peace. I agree  CWT had an absolute garbage game plan when he got here but what a freakin recruiting class in his first full year, he had swagger, just not seeing it with CJS.  He is not smooth, cannot go into Liberty City and get us  a Q, or the Miami hood and get us Deatrick Nichols, Khalid McGee , Immokalee and get us a DJ and Dedrin Senate, even  into Sarasota and get us a Marlon Mack or Tampa and get us a Nigel Harris, Bruce Hector maybe he can go into  the panhandle and get us a McCants and convince him to come here over FSU.. Nah. He just doesn’t have the roll to pull this **** off, dude is a Gomer Pyle.  Disclaimer I know at least Nigel was in the first class but you get my point.

So you're saying we don't have a chance.

Not saying that but not liking our odds either, normally with every new hire you get a big strong recruiting class your first full year due to the hype, promise of playing time, new vision). CWT got 3 NFL defensive lineman (Senat, Hector and Lee).  Did we even get anything that will resemble that or 2 NFL RB’s  a GOAT, nfl DB and 2 transfer NFL wr.  Just not feeling it.

Remember that didn't start to reveal itself until the Syracuse game after the players came up with a strategy in a player dinner.  Until that point it was a hopeless stink fest.  So we may not be there yet :D

It’s because I haven’t been posting since I have really nothing positive to say about pretty much any topic going on and I don’t think that’s healthy or valuable to improving things. This however is one of my 5 favorite talking points and I was called out by name so I probably went at it a little hard but it’s the only speed I know and I had a lot bottled up given our week.

At least I only posted once on one topic? Trying to find the silver lining…

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
