HERO Sports' Colton Pool believes that FSU and Clemson leaving the ACC after settling their lawsuits aimed at getting both out of the conference's Grant of Righ

If the ACC were to cease to exist as a conference -- which may not be the case if its contingency plan of adding Memphis, Tulane, USF, UConn, Oregon State, and Wazzu comes to fruition -- several schools with AAU accreditation (UNC, UVA, Miami, Pitt, Duke, GA Tech) could have a home in the Big Ten.

I believe that is the best contingency plan for the ACC, BUT, not all of UNC, UVA, Miami, Duke and GT would get into the B1G.

By this logic g5 is the new fcs.  Eff that nonsense. Can the aac teams pull a fsu and Clemson and sue then for lowering their brands ?

The AAC brand can't get any lower. Any bit of brand value went out the window when the AAC added 6 sun belt teams last year.

Local power battles continue as ACC discontent rattles.

NC House bill would compel UNC, NCSU to play App. St., ECU (journalnow.com)

The good news for Oregon State and Washington State -- spurned by power conferences -- is that teams have been left behind before. Some, like TCU, eventually...

USF made this "major college football" thing look pretty easy at first. As a startup program under their first coach, Jim Leavitt, the Bulls enjoyed winning seasons in their first four FBS seasons, then joined the Big East in 2005, bowled for six straight years and spent time in the AP top 10 in both 2007 and 2008. But they fell from eight wins to five to three under Leavitt's replacement, Skip Holtz -- like at UConn, things had already fallen apart when South Florida lost its power-conference designation -- and their years in the AAC have been a roller coaster: a combined 6-18 in 2013-14, then 21-4 in 2016-17, then 4-29 in 2020-22.

The Bulls were too putrid to earn a look from the Big 12 in the early 2020s, even as it was pilfering conference rival UCF. They could be on their way to another high under Alex Golesh -- he's one of the sport's more intriguing young coaches -- and the Tampa-St. Petersburg market might be intriguing enough to make them candidates for future expansion of a Big 12 or ACC if they can both get and keep their act together. But for now, it seems like the AAC is about the right weight class.

I read this ESPN assessment of our football program past, present and future with mixed emotions.  I'm sure it could lead to exploding heads for many on here.  Others may just want to don their MUMA caps (Make USF Mediocre Again).

Gotta love it. UCFer trolls with something that we know little to nothing about ... only coming from one source right now ... and the gloom and doomers take the bait and run.

I don’t trust clicking on links so I have no idea what that is all about lol. What I do believe is that USF will end up in the ACC which is better than the big 12 anyway.

Good to see some of the big 12 fans starting to realize that they basically don’t want to ACC being raided as that will pretty much mean that the big 12 will get raided by the ACC to help backfill teams….
