Why would they take less money after whining publicly for months?

I agree.  It's Dennis Dodd saying that FSU and Clemson might end up in the B12.  There are others that think he's just another B12 homer.

Maybe they can help secure a better deal for the conference with the new additions?  Clemson and FSU make a pretty decent swap for Oklahoma and Texas.

After the payout fees would they even be making enough money to make.up.the difference from acc to b12 after the gor buyout? They would still be the only two true blood programs with any championships in the last 25 years in football in the conference.  They would leave the acc which has 3 with the U.

Fair enough.  So why does FSU and Clemson hate being in the ACC so much?  Aside from this year they had pretty reasonable access to the championship game.

I think its the same reason why we want out of the AAC, its the human desire to improve ones situation. The ACC is clearly a step down compared to the Big 10 and SEC.

Great question.  I think it is they are not getting paid as much as the sec and b1g and want that contract . I find it ironic all these power programs had no problem creating unfair financial advantages versus g5 but want to scream publicly when they are getting a financial disadvantage against the power2. Rules for thee, but not for me. Hopefully it all comes crashing down and there is some form of regulation and  more fair rules for everyone in fbs football. I honestly think the best move would be the b12/acc merger, but it won't happen.

As @Outlaw said ... it's all about the Benjamins.

An extra $40-50 million per year means being competitive across the board.  FSU sees a day when their baseball ... girls soccer... and other sports (not to mention football) are among those left behind in their respective sports.

But we are not leaving the AAC without a league ready to accept us which seems like the case.  It feels like there is bad blood.

Same response, they don't have offers so it feels more like they just want out.  Also, the bolded section I could not agree more.

Are they on the cusp now of getting that kind of money from a league?

This feels like someone wanting to quit their job.  I always tell people to have a job lined up before quiting - unless you really really hate their job and it is affecting their health or something.

FSU is quiting without a job lined up as far as I can tell.  They are a great candidate but it hurts their negotiating power.

I don't understand the lawsuit with the ACC...

It's a GoR that you signed. But, I guess it's a quicker way for a solution to "more money".

I wish FSU (and Clemson) sued the CFP or NCAA, actually.

I find it to he the same as people that demand their student debt be erased. You were given a contract and signed it. You knew the terms and signed it. If their ad and legal teams were not smart enough to read it the buy out then that is on then. You can't sign a contract and expect everyone to cater to you because you don't like it years down  the road. I'm just waiting for the happy power teams to start using the language the gor contracts is predatory and unfair.
