So this is why I don't see Florida wanting FSU in the SEC. The SEC already has the florida market with all the transplants, Floribama area that FSU is in , and people want to watch the best sports conference play football. FSU and Clemson would be the best pickups for the SEC, but I don't think they really need them or want to deal with the ACC Drama.

They don’t but they probably realize that they need to let it happen or risk the big ten swooping in and grabbing FSU, Miami, & USF making Florida big ten country……

Yep. I know the Big Ten. They want AAU.  That is why they would take Miami, UNC, GT, UVA, Duke all above FSU or Clemson. Ohio State and a few others may vote to add them.  You need 70% or 13 schools.  Northwestern, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois, USC, Minnesota, and Indiana would all certainly vote against a non-AAU school. I suspect UCLA and Maryland would as well.

If they can be convinced the market is worthwhile and the school is academically and athletically viable, they will vote yes on an application.

The B1G is in the unique position that they can demand both. They already make enough TV money as a conference that cares about the AAU status. They don't need to add others unless they meet the criteria they want. And there are quality additions available to them that meet both the blue blood/strong athletic program and AAU criteria. UNC is obviously a basketball blue blood with AAU status and also a very strong all around athletic department (#8 in the Learfield Cup last year). UVA is also an AAU school with a very strong all around athletics department (#4 in Learfield Cup).

If the NFL can support multiple teams in a state so can a conference.

The ACC shouldn't negotiate with terrorists.
