Once the college game day experience hits campus, they will probably make a fortune. In Gvegas and Tallnasty houses, townhomes, condos, and hotels are insane on game day. I owned one for 10 years (sold it in 2014 ish), where I lived right accross from baseball. I hated that condo, but I loved walking over to athletic events. Going to miss it when the stadium is done. USF_Bullsharks Posted February 2 Group: Member Topic Count: 11 Content Count: 883 Reputation: 481 Days Won: 1 Joined: 02/24/2021 Share Posted February 2 An ACC fan's projected TV payouts for their members from the start of the TV contract in 2012, to the addition of the ACCN, to now adding Calford/SMU. Calford is getting a reduced share (1/2 I think?) and SMU is forfeiting their TV revenue until 2033, so the dropoff there is when the share "normalize" across all members (full members now will be getting their 2 full shares, distributed). This is only counting for the TV contract - additional revenue from performance/tourney units/bowl payouts/CFP money, etc would be added on top in whatever the new incentive payout packages the ACC agreed to. Blue line - linear TV package (4% growth per year) Green line - total payout per member from media rights (including ACCN subscriptions) Not figured into it - total payout In the 2022-2023 academic year, the average school payout from ACC was 39.5MM, with TV accounting for ~31.5MM, so an an approximate $8MM/school in additional compensation from other factors like NCAA tournament and bowl games. With the new CFP money going to add approximately $5MM/school (rounding down, let's assume $12MM total on top of TV payout), these projections show that year 1 after Calford/SMU join, or the 2024-2025 distributions, full members will receive approximately ~$48MM ($36MM media + $12MM incentives). I'm not 100% sure where the B1G/SEC's "blue line" is, I think more like $55-65MM/year in the next couple of years, then scaling to $75MM+ towards the end of the agreements (2028/2029ish). Plus the additional distributions (CFP, bowls, tourney units, etc.), that's where the projected payouts of $90/100MM+ from the conference comes into play. I believe the B12's deal ("blue line") is $31.6MM, then you add their additional revenue as well. What the B12 lacks is a network, which for the ACC added an additional ~$10MM/yr/member to their payouts and grows with the terms in the ESPN contract (whatever that may be). This is the biggest reason as to why USF is not really "valuable" to the ACC in current form, we do not add additional in-state network viewers, and we do not draw the eyeballs on TV that traditional football programs do. Once FSU leaves the ACC, that changes.

If Calford and SMU didn't have any new big markets to add to the ACCN, the ACC doesn't throw them a lifeline. They buy at the latest moment possible.
