Subdivisions suck let's go rural.

Even rural is becoming a thing of the past. Moved to San Antonio 5 years ago. Now they're literally building mini towns all over Pasco County.

why do people assume that FSU CAN leave?

they made a public plea earlier this year saying they were ready to go and they heard crickets.

maybe the big 10 and sec have no interest

Honestly, (this scenario benefits the ACC, and only the ACC) ACC needs to stick together and take the PAC-2, TTech, TCU, Ok State, Kansas and then they would be the 3rd best for sure.

If the ACC sticks together, they are the 3rd best conference (in football) easily, without taking anyone.

Sadly I don’t think that helps them. The $$ difference between the ACC and the big 2 conferences is too substantial for things to remain the same. FSU and Clemson and the other big schools want to be on equal footing with them and that alone will kill it. Something needs to give and soon or college football will continue self-imploding

Agree - I was just saying they didn't need to raid the Big 12 to be #3, if they stuck together, they would be head and shoulders ahead of the Big 12 in football.

New idea.

2 Power conferences of 64 teams each, broken into 8 divisions of 8 teams.

Round robins scheduling to play all teams in for division (7 games total) and one protected rivalry outside division. (8 games total). Tie breakers can be total point differential or penalty yards.

Playoff bid for each division champ (11 games total). Then the winner of that plays for national championship against the other conference champ.

You can keep almost the entirety of college football intact and omit any bias of p5/g5. Also, cap coaches salaries for god’s sake.

what's funny is these schools have made it all about the $$.

FSU and clemson are much better off in the acc from a competitive standpoint.

they will make the playoffs far more often. they will have much better records year over year compared to playing in the sec.

only their fans will lose out.

watch what happens to  OU.

they have won the big 12 14 times since 2000 and have played in the 4 team playoffs 4 times.

That's winning your conference 60% of the time. good luck with that in sec.

Nebraska won 9 division championships in big 12 in the 14 years they were in it.

they have won 1 in the big 10 in the 12 years there and none since 2012.

that program is a shell of it's former self.

Absolutely correct. Money in this story that is playing out is like “my precious” in the Lord of the Rings…everyone wants it but it only destroys who has it. It isn’t funny at all what is happening. We are watching something that is unsustainable…it’s in an uncontrolled feedback loop.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
