Yup... but the PAC 2 still gets a CFP bid, so you never know.

Potentially, for 2 years at least but maybe not more than that. The current CFP contract only runs through the 25 football season so it's very likely the next contract goes either 5 + 7 with the PAC having to fight with the AAC and SBC, or a straight up selection of the 12 highest ranked teams regardless of conference champs.

We shall see what the future holds but, for now, we know the Autonomous Five are are driving things with apparently no one to really steer where they are headed.

Agreed. I think 5 + 7 is the safest bet to avoid an antitrust lawsuit.

I would love to see some lawsuits.

I don't think it would ever happen but this would be kinda fun.

Not surprising from Boise State ...... crazy talk.

GameTime podcast today has an even crazier suggestion about a G5 Premier League .... nutso.

That was my reaction too. Call me a hypocrite (because I really hate the whole P5 setup), but I don't want any of the conferences currently below the American to come any closer to getting a CFP spot. So long as we have this BS caste-based system in place, I want my conference to remain as far ahead the others as possible.

Just burn it all down and get it over with.  The sport as we knew it is gone.

Next, the athletes will push to be considered employees, unionize, demand benefits, etc.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
