I didn’t click on the 3 (+1) Stooges but just reading that, it’s never a good time to be bad in football but let’s see if/when there is another G5 call up in the near future and who’s picked. We would have had to have gone to 3 straight NY6 bowls to have even had a chance to supplant one of the three called up.

Good read on the timeline of events for the Pac-12 with some anonymous "true" insiders.

What stood out is the Pac-12 had a few times to save itself but priced itself to high during media negotiations, USC blocking expansion with the Big 12 to then leave soon after and the Apple deal having an out clause after 2 years if things didn't work out

Overall athletically, it's UConn by a mile. Football wise there's more potential for the 2 southern teams. But they've got a ways to go with support and funding. But UConn would be a long shot to join a south/Midwest/west coast based football first conference after not liking being in a south/Midwest football first AAC.

Think we will eventually see UConn in ACC if BC let’s them lol

100% this.

Besides, UConn left the American to join the Big East in BB and go independent in FB. I don't see them abandoning the Big East unless it's for a boatload of money (like ACC or better money).

Yes, Uconn would definitely not want to join the new PAC/Mountain West/AAC merger. But I would not begrudge them for leaving the AAC. They did what they thought was in their best interest, and I think it brought dividends for them in basketball. However, if they want to come back I would love to have them since they just won a national championship in basketball and would be a solid addition.

Some are saying the announcement that UCONN would not be heading to the Big 12 was good news, but I didn't think it was really news at all.

The Big East and the West Coast Conference have been spared in realignment -- at least for now. That's a good thing for the Huskies and Zags

This person is out of date.  We move at the speed of gossip.

Yeah, some may think we will be right there between the Beavers and Wazzu but we taint.

I think Houston and UCF were lucky as well to get the invite last year since I don't think they would have been invited today because of the demise of the Pac. Big 12 would likely have added just Cincy and Pac teams, and waited it out on Stanford and ACC teams.

Same way we probably would not have invited Rice, North Texas, and Charlotte due to recent changes and the possibility of adding Mountain West and Pac teams

I finally added that JAFFX2 person to my ignore list. It's a very small list, so congrats to him or her. I was getting zero value from their trollish posts. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Can't read the article because it's behind a paywall, but he'd better hope Stanford and Cal stick around. I'm skeptical that any top tier AAC schools will abandon the AAC to join a new Pac-12 with just Wazzou and Oregon State. The TV contract wouldn't be worth it.
