No one from USF Athletics, I am referring to “some” of the fan base. Athletics is doing the right thing by keeping quiet (other than that lame domino tweet by BG) so as to not increase speculation. My point is if you increase the expectation now and all of this may take years (if ever) your going to get more and more disgruntled about where we are. Just wait until the PAC perhaps moves on SMU and they are the fourth AAC team to move up and we are still sitting here holding our dicks. Looking at the long term picture for fans is the way to deal with this…in my opinion

En Fuego!  Keep up the good work NEB.  Need to keep people grounded.

Lol people seem to forget that this thread was built on fantasy & speculation not reality. For crying out loud we had Yoda dressed up in a Tuxedo for the occasion. The super conferences will eventually blow up anyway. Better chance for USF when we see a 12 to 16 team playoff imo

Plus on the bright side we still have Navy (Annapolis), Tulane ( NOLA ), Memphis, Rice ( Houston), UTSA ( San Antonio) destinations to travel to

So fans are moving on because we have a handful of idiots saying we are going to the big ten and most of those posts are actually in jest?  Fans left and are leaving because we suck and not because a few people are talking nonsense.  This perspective is simply silly.

Fans are leaving among many reasons. Yes lack of winning is the most obvious, but it’s also because we are in a **** conference. Consequently, “some” people feel we should be in a higher conference and this “contributes” (along with other issues) to the frustrations when we don’t get there (resulting, for “some,” in exit visas). I am saying temper those expectations and don’t believe in pie on the sky expectations that are unreasonable…like going to the B10. Again it’s the accumulation affect.

Yup. Fairweather fans are going to do what fairweather fans do in bad times. Real fans just wallow in the suck and hope for better days before we croak.

I'm sure many of us here are holding out hope that our new QB is the real deal and leads USF to many fantastic victories this season, and those magical wins become the dominoes falling into newly opened doors to better days and joyous posts on TBP (including the final post on this thread when we get to the promised land). 🥳🤘

Agreed.

My take on expansion: there’s only so much we can do. We can’t control what other conferences do. All we can control is how much we invest in athletics and win. The rest should take care of itself, but if it doesn’t, at least we got to support our team and enjoy success (however limited because of who we play in our conference).
