FSU just won a national championship and have a heisman. They are not leaving the ACC any time soon. They are gravy.

FSU just won a national championship. They are worth more than USF and UCF combined.

USF UCF combo is a no brainer for big 12

$, TV, recruiting

USF+ UCF > FSU

USF+ UCF > Miami

USF+ UCF > Florida

You need to understand that a UCF and USF deal is NEVER going to happen.

At this rate, UCF is in a position to leave us behind (and they will - if we keep trying to sell ourselves in conjuction with them).

We need to FOCUS on aggrandizing individually - and supporting ONLY our school.

I really don't understand UCF being in a better position than USF.  Two years ago USF had a superior football team than UCF, and USF has had a far better team than UCF most of the last decade.  There really is zero reason to believe that UCF is suddenly going to have a better program than USF for the next twenty years.  Just because they lucked out with one QB and managed to win a few squeakers does not change the fact that they barely sold out the South Carolina game when everyone knew the UCF team was going to be pretty good.  Attendence over the last ten years is clearly in USF's favor, as is success over that time period and many other factors.

University presidents aren't that dumb to select a school because of success on the field or lack therof based on ONE SEASON.  Plenty of other factors weigh in much more heavily.

If one season of on the field success was important, Boise St would have been in a BCS conference years ago.

I am so tired of hearing this stupid comment.

UCF HAD ONE GREAT FOOTBALL YEAR in a semi-real football conference. They will not leave anyone "behind" because of it. And if you tell me about that pathetic excuse for a stadium as a selling point, then you just don't get it.

UCONN just won the national championship in bball, I don't hear them leaving to the ACC or Big12 and they are a far better fit and of greater value both market-wise and history-wise.

If success on field meant anything than why is Rutgers in the Big Ten and UCONN is not. This is why one really good season of football at UCF will not get them into the big 12. Plus UCF+USF>FSU if you look at it from the tv market standpoint. There are way more tv's in tampa and orlando than tallahassee. However if the Big 12 goes to 12 it will probably be us or ucf and either cincy or uconn

mhver3 aka Big 12 rumor factory has stated the Big 12 is looking at USF among several other schools at the moment. Including Memphis, UCF, BYU, Houston, ETC

Not to burst the bubble but, MHver3 is the worst.  That guy never gets much right.  Have to think the BIg 12 is looking at Cincy to give WVU a closer regional partner.

At some point you would think the BIg 12 is going to have to have a Championship game. Pac 12, ACC,SEC,BIG10 all have one.  So once these playoffs start I would think soon enough it's going to be a requirement.  I would think USF,UCF,Cincy,BYU,Houston,Uconn are the options they would look at.  BIG 12 seems so greedy with adding anyone so I could see just adding 2 more schools to get to their actual conference name...The Big 12.  It will be interesting to see how it plays out and which 2 schools or so they would add.  i would add the Florida schools UCF, USF to give them a different geographic.

I feel like, if the Big 12 really wanted to go east, they would pick up USF, UCONN, Cincy, and UCiF. Gives them teams across the east coast and Cincy, who is closer to a lot of the Big 10 schools.

UCONN offers a consistent attraction with mens and womens basketball- I believe UCONN would nearly instantly become the Big12 favorite.

USF/UCF offer the rich recruiting state of Florida, as well as a region (together) with practically the most* TV sets.

Cincy allows the Big 12 to get to 14 schools, a little cleaner than 13 schools, and also puts them right in the middle of a Big 10 area.

And most tune into FSU or Florida. What is important is who the tv's tune in for, not where they are located.
