I don't think that would qualify as "excellent" but as long as the overall quality of the AAC doesn't decline (e.g. via expansion) then the AAC can be a perfectly viable conference once the CFP expands and all champions receive an auto-bid. Not sure how many of us will be around to see that day though. Well it’s “excellent” compared to your predictions...

I fear that USF missed its window and our current trajectory will leave USF further behind when expansion comes again. Worst case in the same form we are now in the same conference with the same teams. Just now, brybull1970 said: Tell me. What does your scattergram tell you about the trajectory if USF athletics? Over a 15 year period it’s not that bad. Not great but certainly not meeting the draconian perspectives that you present.

Dude thought he was untouchable. Happens to the best coaches sometimes (see: Bobby Knight). Should not have interfered with the investigation. Oh well, the past the past. This AAC is what you see. Don’t buy into this dudes BS. There IS NO BEXT ROUND OF EXPANSION! There is no economic criteria to support it. If you look at it from the Big12 starting it from bringing in another team that makes sense but there is plenty of economic sense that would come from P5 teams picking off one another or a team wanting to head to greener pastures in which case the climate and math changes completely. If you believe we are always going to be last in the AAC then you are drinking heavy or have illusions.

But none of those teams would come from the Big12 and none of the other power four conferences will go after a G5 school...they would not slum that bad. Any conference would be happy to have Texas or Oklahoma and if either of those teams were to leave for whatever reason the Big 12 is left scrambling for anything that marginally seems like a salvageable idea.

Texas will never go somewhere they are not top dog. Further, neither team will leave the conference where it is the easiest path for the playoffs. Never going to happen...
