Just go into that special closet in your room. Open the door and glaze at those dozens of Jim Leavitt photos hanging, rub the head of the Jim Leavitt bust, gaze at the mini Jim Leavitt statute. Light the candle and mumble the words “oh thou great coach of yesteryear, keep me strong by not forgetting all that you have done” Then slap your self hard in face and repeat three times: “I am the most important man in this building.” Do all of that and I know you will feel fine...

If nothing else it helps set where the fan bases expectations should be. I think our administration currently views Stanford athletics as the model. It appears that more emphasis and focus is going into the Olympic sports. with CCSs contract and having to wait for funding for the IPF, football Doesn’t look to be a quick fix. You wish. How about if we graduate student athletes and win games. Which we do. Our academic standards and standing pre-Genshaft were on par with HCC. Now we are nipping at UF’s heels. Academics matter, a lot. See this week’s opponent for proof.

We aren't even average for the AAC at this point. What I am saying is it appears that the goal of the current administration is not to be like Georgia but to be more like Stanford. I sense more emphasis from AD Kelly on the other sports teams compared to any AD's prior to him. Possibly that is because Basketball and Track and Field are going to be more successful than it has in the past and they are just naturally playing to their strengths. But it feels like winning at football has taken a step back in importance within the athletic department. Houston is saying they want to win 10 games every year in football and has gone into debt to do so. I don't think USF is anywhere near that. I'd like to see us more like Boise State.
